I really like this eyeliner. It is very much smudge-proof on the top of the lid. The black is quite stark as you can see in my photos where I did not wear any eye makeup or foundation so you could get a good feel for the color. I suck at doing my eyes, but the angled tip makes it a little easier. At first I had a little trouble getting a smooth line, but once you pinch away the tip of it and get to the good stuff underneath it works smoothly and is creamy. The directions didn't say whether it could be used for your waterline, but I thought I'd try it. Six hours later,, the eyeliner hasn't budges on the eyelid and barely smudged on the waterline. Love it. Which can also be an issue. It says you can get a soft smudged finish, but it's very budge-proof. I tried to soften the lines with my fingers, but no go. You may have to either move faster than I did, or put your eyeshadow on top of the liner to get a softer finish. I have two Wonderskin eyeliners that I swear by. So far, this one is just the same, at a lower price. I can see myself relying on this one quite often just so I don't have to worry about raccoon eyes Read more

Overall I really like this eyeliner, and especially at this price point it’s a great value and has pretty solid performance. It lasted all day on my lids without transferring to my browbone or drifting down to my undereye area. It didn’t last long on my waterline, but also didn’t make a mess or transfer from there. It didn’t irritate my eyes at all, even with contacts in. It’s soft and dark enough to get good color payoff without requiring a lot of pressure, and is really easy to blend out for a smoky look if you want that. My favorite part is the shape and size of it, it’s slim and angled which it makes it SO easy to apply as a tight liner, which is my preferred look most of the time. My hands are often a bit unsteady so I default to just lining my waterline since that doesn’t require the same degree of precision as lining my lids while still getting a thin, tight line, but this one was a snap to apply and still get that look. I’ve removed one star for two reasons. The first and main reason to lose a star is that it says it’s waterproof, and it’s not; I don’t mind that it’s not waterproof, but it should be accurately labeled so people know what they’re getting, and the lack of waterproof properties means it doesn’t last on the waterline. The second reason is kind of two in one, but also could be seen as a pro rather than a con depending on the person, so it’s basically a wash in terms of how to apply stars… it never really sets. That can be a good thing, since it means you have all the time in the world to blend it out, wipe off misplaced lines, or add thickness without looking weird on the lines already in place, and also makes it really easy to remove when you’re ready. On the other hand, it also means that it never sets, and remains easy to wipe off (including inadvertently) all day long. I countered that by setting with powder once I had it applied how I wanted, and that worked well, but especially for something marketed as waterproof, it’s annoying to NEED to do that. Notwithstanding those complaints, I’ll be buying this again when it runs out — it’s too perfect for my tight lined look otherwise :) Read more

This is a review of CALAILIS Black Eyeliner Pencil. I love the waterproof feature because I do sweat while exercising daily and I DON'T like to worry about smudging and makeup coming off. This works by twisting the lower half to get the desired length of product available at the end, and then lightly pressing against the skin where you want to apply. If you do twist the liner out a bit too far, it is fairly easy to snap it off accidentally, wasting the product, so you have to learn to be careful there. The product itself is just creamy enough to be able to apply fairly easily without too much pressure, but firm enough to not break off if you keep just a short amount showing at the end. I liked using it on the lower eyelid where I can make the line fairly easily and quickly, and it IS waterproof unless you get some oily product near it, and then it might smudge a bit. I also tried this on the upper lid, and it does a decent job, but for older eyelids, I find that I prefer a product that glides very easily without any pulling at all-with this you will have to press down and pull lightly across. I do really like this though and plan to continue using it on the lower eyelid! Read more

The CALAILIS black liner compared nicely to my high end department store brands, in fact it will replace them. The rich black color compliments my eye makeup and the price is amazing for such a nice eyeliner. It's so creamy and the shape of the tip is next level. I have never used one like this and it makes applying so much easier. I wear liner on both top and bottom and I get a nice smooth thin line which is what I'm going for but I can see how this could easily handle a much more dramatic look. It passed the smudge and sweat test during and after exercise. I couldn't be more pleased with this liner and will definitely buy it again. Read more

I absolutely love how effortlessly this eyeliner glides on! The creamy formula is so smooth, it hugs my lash line perfectly without any tugging or skipping. Plus, the color is super pigmented, and it really lasts all day without smudging or fading. The fine tip makes it so easy to create anything from a natural look to bold lines... definitely my go-to eyeliner now! Read more

I love the ease of application this liner provides! It’s a deep black color, which I really like. The applicator tip is rounded, making it extremely convenient to apply. To dispense more product, I simply had to twist the bottom of the liner pencil. To retract it for storing, I just had to twist it the other way. Very convenient! It’s high-quality too. It says it’s waterproof, so I tried to rub it off immediately after application, which smeared it a bit. Once it had a chance to dry, it was good to go. After it was dry and set, I tried to clean it off with just water. It wasn’t quite waterproof, but it’s definitely water resistant and doesn’t smear. Read more
