I had severe itching redness and rawness in my rectal area. I went to the doctor and suffered through the humiliation of having him inspect it, and then having him apply several extremely burning solutions to it that didn't cure anything, He changed my diet, and had me use Balneol rectal cleansing lotion on my toilet tissue. I had a minor skin irritation and my Nurse Practitioner gave me a few packets of this. I threw it in a drawer and basically forgot about it for several months. Last week my son had wind burned cheeks and after two days of Eucerin application it wasn't getting better. So, I remembered this and gave it a try. His cheeks were completely normal looking after 20 minutes of this being applied. I was amazed! So much so that I applied it to the very dry sides of my nose (from constant nose blowing) before I went to bed. At first I was concerned because the menthol was almost uncomfortably tingly. That subsided after a minute and when I woke up my nose was completely better. Neosporin, vaseline, eucerin, and cortizone have never accomplished those kind of results. This ointment gives you a halelujah relief when faced with that bitter-sweet itch. So I liked to use it but thought it would finally take the itch away permanently. I had refrained from going to the doc because I was embarassed and definitely did not want him checking my behind. But that did not work and finally succumbed, swallowed my pride and went to see my doc of many many years. He made me understand that the itch was caused by a build up of yeast and that I did not have enough good bacteria in my intestines to fight and drive away the yeast. So I was given Diflucan and Probiotics. The problem is gone after a week of treatment. Of course I will continue to take Probiotics till the 30 day dosage is done.....and will probably buy more probiotics as a supplement. Read more
