It's my go-to for almost everything, I use it for sautes, chili, and even sauces-- the size is fantastic, it is really large and big pieces of meat or a lot of fish can fit into it at one time. It's a thick pan, things do not burn, I cook everything imaginable in it-- stir fry, fry, braise, it's even high enough to stew meat. But I do strongly suggest you not use the dishwasher-- as the instructions say--and it's very easy to clean by hand, the grease slides out with a wipe. (My stepdaughter stayed over and put it in the dishwasher and ruined it, it got scratched and etched, so it isn't indestructible, it must be hand washed, I had to buy another one. )But it's such a good pan I wanted to replace it. I think it will last a very long time if it's taken care of. Read more

This is the first time I've purposely come back to give a review... but this product is worth it. I have had this pan for over a year and I use it everyday, and I can honestly say it is the best pan I've ever owned. It has gone through hell! I have forgotten I was cooking something and burnt what was in the pan and it clean up perfectly, just like new. The size is great for just about any family meal. I like the two side handles better for serving and cooking when you have multiple pots on stove. I also like the depth of the pot, besides the ability to hold more food, the depth of the pot keeps food from spilling over the sides when your cooking. Just a great pot and would be a lovely wedding gift. Read more

I got these because they were cheap and non-stick, from a reputable brand. We have a couple other pricey nonstick skillets that were not really nonstick. These pans are a bit thin, but work really well in consistency and in the non-stick department. Eggs are now enjoyable to make! The smaller of the two pans is still pretty large, but it does well for flipping still. The large, well made handle helps with that quite well. Despite being stainless, the handle does not heat up significantly. Cleaning is a breeze - they're dishwasher safe, but I just handwash mine. No kids, but the price is low enough to forgive that. More amazing for the price - I couldnt believe that they were made in the USA! Even if these only last a year or two on the non-stick (I've been using it for about a month with no issues, but non-stick tends to fade after awhile). I'd probably still rebuy the set. Read more

Best purchase I have ever made in terms of value...I did a lot of research before purchasing an 8-in skillet, upgrading my "go-to" skillet, especially for cooking eggs, omelettes, and frittatas, as well as sauteing. If you want a non-stick skillet that can accommodate 4-egg omelets, heats evenly and predictably, washes effortlessly, AND also includes a wonderful cover, this should be your first choice. I con't say enough about how well this skillet works and how easy it is to clean (I will not put in the dishwasher--not necessary). I have been making frittatas...moving from the stove to the toaster oven broiler function with ease and tasty results. It is convenient for just the two of us as well. Don't need a huge skillet and oven broiler. During my research I found such a variety of price points I was really discouraged because I hate returning items that I order. I couldn't really find one with a cover included either. When I found the Calphalon and realized I was getting a pan and a cover for the price of other pans without covers, I was skeptical. But, no more...You really do get an excellent product at a very affordable price...IN MY OPINION!! Read more

My Wolfgang Puck skillets have lasted me an entire decade, but the nonstick finally reached the end of its useful life. It was taking quite a bit more oil to keep foods from sticking, and it was even starting to peel a bit around the place where the handles were bolted on. Ten years out of a skillet? You can't beat that! The trouble is...they don't make them anymore! So I had to go on a search for new skillets that were just as good as my WP skillets were. I read countless good things about Calphalon, so when I found this set for only $35 around Christmas time with so many great reviews, I knew it must be a steal...just ONE of my WP skillets cost that much, ten years ago! As it turns out, they exceeded my expectations! They take wear well, and the nonstick works so well that one little spray of olive oil cooking spray is enough to cook almost anything. I've been using them for six months now and they're still like brand new. So far they are just as good as my now-retired Wolfgang Puck skillets. I like them so much that I went back and bought two more sets to give as gifts to my mom and grandma. They love them too! Read more

I bought these pans to replace an old 12" frying pan that was non-stick coated with old-fashioned teflon. Over many years of use, the teflon had worn through. The non-stick coating on these pans seems to be sturdier, but they're not supposed to be used with metal utensils, just like the old teflon. I have a set of Analon cookware that allows the use of metal utensils, but it lacks a big frying pan. The big attraction of this pair of pans was the Calphalon name and the low price. If I get 10 years of wear out of them (like my old frying pan), they are well worth the money. The hard-coated Analon cookware, which was much more expensive, will last a lifetime. So far, I have no complaints. They distribute heat very well, the metal handles stay cool. and they clean up very easily. Durability remains to be seen, as I've only been using them for a couple of months. Read more
