I switched to Caltrate Minis after struggling with large calcium tablets. The difference is night and day. These are genuinely small - easy to swallow without water if needed - and there is no aftertaste. What was previously a chore to choke down is now no longer an issue. I would only choose a calcium supplement with D3 included, so this fits the bill, and I like that it has a color that distinguishes it from all my other supplements. Caltrate Minis are worth hunting down for quality and ease of use. Read more

I just started taking this. It is the max calcium dosage OTC. Normally, all my calcium needs are met by food intake as calcium in tablet forms are not good for the heart. However, I have osteopenia in my spine so not taking chances or waiting for right foods to work. I have to take these twice a day for 1200 mg calcium, which is the normal adult dose. These are easy to swallow, have high calcium, and had good reviews. Let's see what this does in a few months, if it reverses my beginning stages of osteopenia. I am also taking in yoghurt, milk, almond milk, cheese, cream. One thing to be aware of, is that if you increase your calcium intake to high levels, make sure you take enough Vit D3, Magnesium Glycinate, Zinc, and Vit K2 (MK7 type) so your calcium goes to making bones not stones. Your doctor can guide you there. Read more

I was taking HRT and the doctors recommended I start taking Vit D supplements as well, even though I am in Texas and outside in the sun a lot! These tablets are easy to swallow but if you prefer a smaller pill I'd recommend getting a pill cutter as well to cut them in half. I am not sure how much of an effect they've had on my bones but I do feel better when I am taking them regularly. Read more
