I bought this winter coat to replace my existing coat. The coat is very warm and waterproof. It is comfortable with a soft lining. The pockets are all fairly good size and all seal with a zipper or button so nothing falls out. It was inexpensive but seems to work as well as my previous expensive winter coat. Read more

I had bought the same ski jacket a few years ago for a neighbor, so when they wanted another one, I went to my orders and pulled up the same coat so I could order another one just like it. We don't use these to ski, but to stay warm and dry in the winter, b/c they are waterproof they work well for the sleety wet winter days to keep dry and they do block the wind. She wears women's 3X but could fit the mens 2X well so I just re-ordered the same men's coat that worked well before. I re-ordered a blue color instead. The dark blue has a very attractive darker blue color that you dont' see much anywhere, not too navy, not too dark, just a really attractive borderline dark tealish blue color. But both of us were disappointed to see the coat was not the same as they used to make them, but a lot more thin. The older one was heavier, it had some heft to it, and really kept you warm. As her old one that she was wearing was still in good shape, I said "hold on to your old one, and take good care of it, they don't make them like this anymore." The fabric on the newer one had a cheaper fabric inside and out, and both inside and outer fabrics were lighterweight. The jacket must have had less insulation to be that much more lightweight. It was like the spring/fall version of the warm thick winter coat they used to make. Comparing them together, we could really see the difference. O.k. so inflation sets in, and the items get 'cheapened' as the manufacturers can no longer afford to make them at the former price. So to keep the price the same the item gets cheaper. But, if these get any thinner, it will be basically just a rain coat. Pros: It still looks very attractive, the inside fur is still fuzzy, you can wear it as an outer shell and layer another coat underneath for warmth, such as a packable down or fleece. Unless you just don't need or want a very warm coat. Or, it would functon perfectly as a cold weather rain coat for spring or fall or transitioning into winter. But my neighbor just did not like it as well as the old one, and said it's not the same, it is so much thinner. And so I returned it sadly. But the color was very attractive. Read more
