It is prettier in person than the picture, it has an on/off switch, a switch you can set a timer for how long the light is on and a switch that will brighten or dim the candle light. We turn it on every evening and it gives a little bit of ambient light to our dining room room, as well as filling the house with the smell of a candle. You don’t have to worry about forgetting to blow a candle out so you can enjoy the scent of your favorite candle without the worry. This is an amazing lamp. I love the brightness levels, the look, the ease of use, i love that you can change the height of it for different sized candles. Most of all I love that my candles look brand new after using this 3 days in a row for 8 hours each day. Also I had previously lit one of my candles the old fashioned way and i could barely smell it, I put it under the candle warmer and it seemed to have bring out the scent and my entire apartment filled with the scent of the candle.
