Great Addition

All my tools use Milwaukee-based batteries. Having this little addition adds another aspect to the set's usability. Just hook this up to one of your Milwaukee batteries and use the clamps on your low or dead battery, and you can get a "jump" to start your car or device. It's small and fits easily in your toolbox, and it certainly is great when you encounter a non-charged battery. I just used it on my neighbor's garden tractor, which he hadn't used for a while. Started it right up. Of course, you must leave the device running for a time to let the alternator/generator charge the battery afterwards. Read more

It started an engine 10% over what it is rated. 'Nuf said.

When this arrived, I immediately put it to the test. I grabbed a fully charged 5Ah Milwaukee battery and went out to our obstinate 2000 Windstar van. For some reason, the battery will die, even if we drove it the day before. It can go months without a problem. Then, click, click...nothing. I was going to drag out the battery charger, but I had a real chance to try this. I clamped this jump starter to the battery terminals, checked a few things to make something wasn't loose. I've learned that with little jumper boxes, it is best to give one a few minutes before trying to start the vehicle. I opened the door and was greeted by the key in ignition bells. I turned that key and varoom (ok, putt, putt) it started right up. I pulled the jump starter off. Out of curiosity, I checked the charge on the Milwaukee battery. It was down a bar. Then it hit me. The description says it is for 3.5 liters or less. Our Windstar has the coveted (NOT!) 3.8 liter engine. It shouldn't have started. So far, I haven't had a visit from the Liter Patrol. I think I am safe. I have to give it 5 stars. It started an engine over what it is rated. Read more
