Carhartt 14 Twenty-Five-Pocket Heavyweight Tool Bag Black One Size

I have been a Husky 14" tool bag fanboy for years and have worn a couple of them out. I needed a new bag and was very disappointed in the new design. Tool bag organization is very important to me as I am a field service tech that typically works under time constraints and a well organized tool bag helps me be efficient and quick. In fact, I have 2 separate tool bags for different programs I support, yes, I am obsessive about my tool organization. I see "flippers" on EBAY selling new old style Husky bags for Carhartt prices so I thought I would try a Carhartt for the Carhartt prices. Layout of the 14" bag tool pockets is much better than my old Husky. The pocket organization allows me to keep all of my most used tools on one side, so no more flipping the bag around to find what I need. The bag is very well designed and the material quality is excellent. Extremely happy with my purchase. I normally don't write product reviews but if you use a tool bag for your livelihood, I would encourage you to look closely at the Carhartt offerings. Im a locksmith and needed a new tool bag… something that could hold all my tools, my drill, batteries, angle grinder and dremel, plus extra lock and screws etc. I’m in NYC so it had to be small enough to fit in our micro-apartments, public transport friendly and tougher than nails. Also, living in NYC drains your account pretty fast each month so it had to be reasonably priced. I can throw down $250 on a boutique tool bag. I deliberated and settled on this, which was on sale for less than $50. I’m so glad I did!! It meets all my requirements and is VERY well made.. thick Cordova throughout and big ABS skids on the bottom protect it from the, uh hem, less than desirable fluids sometimes found on NYC streets. It has plenty of interior space and has about 10 interior pockets. That’s good since I don’t like any of my tools in the outside pockets, to avoid sticky fingers in the subway. Time will tell how long it lasts but I am very optimistic. I still trust the Carhartt name, even though it’s a bit of a fashionable trend right now. And it definitely feels like it will last.. for most handymen, repair people and the smaller trades, this is the bag you need. Read more
