This matcha powder has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. The flavor is rich and smooth, with a consistency that blends beautifully whether I use cow’s milk or oat milk. It’s labeled as culinary grade, but the quality holds its own against the big-name brands—at a much more affordable price. While it’s not ceremonial grade, it still delivers a vibrant taste and color that makes every cup feel like a treat. Highly recommend for anyone looking to elevate their matcha routine without overspending. Read more

I really love this brand like this is actually my second order and I ordered two. I’ve tried the J leaf and this is just way better. I’m honestly glad that I’ve tried this. I’m the type where I don’t mind trying others just to see which one I like better but honestly, I love this powder. It gives you that really rich green color & you can taste it. It helps me with my digestive system. Read more

I am still new to Matcha and this is my 3rd powder. I've had ceremonial grades in the past and wanted to try a culinary one. It is definitely not as refined of a taste as a ceremonial one but it does have a strong matcha flavor. It's just too bitter for me to enjoy without sweetener (where I usually don't sweeten my ceremonial matcha) I think this powder is great in a pinch and for cooking/ baking but is not ideal for a matcha lattes. I will probably get a different one and save this for baking (Matcha macarons or a matcha tea cake sound wonderful). Read more

The worst part about this matcha is the color of the prepared tea is dull (brownish) so my favorite part of the matcha tea aesthetic has gone missing when I prepare this. I'm going to be honest and mention that this Carrington Culinary offering is of the quality and price of a matcha you might expect to find lurking on the twice marked down shelf at a TJX style discount store. And as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". LOL It's culinary grade and rather bitterly bland, and it has no yumminess unless you add something extra that will pep it up. Upon opening the nicely sealed package, you will see that the powder is a dull yellowish to brownish green. And let me say this right here: a dull hue in matcha tea powder is NOT a good sign. An emerald green Matcha powder is what you want. But there's hope! Being organic and earthy tasting, when I added finely crushed green mint leaves and warm soy milk it made an interesting and healthy tasting altenative evening drink. As it doesn't seem to have a high caffeine content , it brings a mellow vibe. It may also be good for making sauces or whatever, so for this low price, it's worth ordering some I think. Plus maybe you'll get a batch from a richer flavored harvest. FYI: Mine was dated best by 10/01/2026. Matcha Tea is like wine in that harvest date affects the flavor. Read more

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I do. As someone who lives in black lace and silence, matcha felt too soft for me at first — but this one has depth. The flavor is earthy, almost meditative, and smooth enough to drink without sweeteners. There’s something kind of grounding about it, like moss on stone or soft rain on pavement. The color is a beautiful, rich green — not dull or bitter-looking like some cheap powders I’ve tried. It blends easily, and when I froth it with oat milk, it feels like a little ritual. Calm in chaos. Bitterness and softness, balanced. This is the kind of matcha I’ll keep in a dark cupboard, next to my velvet teacups and dried roses. A gentle contrast to the heavy things I usually carry. Would definitely repurchase. Good quality for the price and perfect for quiet mornings or stormy nights. Read more

This is one of the cheapest culinary grade matchas at around $6. It's ok if you're just baking with it. Flavor is mediocre. If they raise the price, I'd stop buying it. Good culinary grade tends to start at about $20 for the same 3.5 oz bag. Read more

Very delicious and a great price point. I got into making matcha lattes at home with a Nespresso milk frother I have. I first used “ceremonial grade” matcha (I lived in Japan for 3 years so I know the difference between good-tasting matcha and low quality matcha) and it was fine but obviously very expensive. I wanted to make some matcha baked goods and read that “culinary grade” was better for that. I ended up using this matcha in my lattes and I cannot tell the difference. In fact, I think because of what it’s made for, it might be better for using in milk. So yeah, HIGHLY recommend this. Read more
