Nice big rectangle basket. You can cook quite a bit in it. I really like the window so I can see the food cooking. It came with some paper liners too. It doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter. This is my first air fryer & I am enjoying this Cartman fryer. Read more

As someone who loves the idea of crispy fries (or "chips," as my new gadget likes to call them), I was truly excited to give the Cartman 4QT Compact & Large Air Fryer a test drive. My old air fryer was a hulking beast that hogged most of my counter, so right away, the lower profile of this unit was a pleasant surprise. It's impressively compact—much shorter than my previous fryer—yet somehow manages to fit just as much food inside thanks to its wide, square basket design. In my first run, I filled the basket with a generous pile of sweet potato fries, and the view through the window made the anticipation even sweeter. Speaking of that viewing window, it quickly became one of my favorite features. I could check on the progress of my fries without opening the basket and letting all the heat out. Watching those fries turn golden brown at 400°F almost felt like a science experiment with delicious results. The digital touchscreen is also simple to use, with helpful presets including one specifically for “chips.” It’s a nice nod to both traditional and modern air frying fans—though it did take me a minute to realize that “chips” was indeed the fry setting I needed. The performance really impressed me, delivering evenly cooked fries with a crisp that bagged fries rarely hit in a regular oven. Thanks to the high temperature options, everything cooked up quickly—I didn’t even have time to lose patience (a recurring hazard in my kitchen). However, I can't say it was all perfect. The glossy black surface picks up fingerprints like it’s auditioning to be in CSI, especially after prepping everything with a bit of oil. If you’re someone who needs your appliances to look spotless, prepare yourself for a quick wipe-down after each use. There may even have been a fleeting moment when I considered wearing gloves to operate it, but then I'd have to explain that to guests. Cleanup is where I did run into one snag. While the crisper plate and basket come out easily and food doesn’t stick much, I noticed that you can't just fill it up and let it soak on the counter. The design does not hold water, so any soaking attempt will end up making a watery mess on your countertop. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to keep in mind if you like to let things "marinate" during cleanup. A quick wash and wipe is the better method here. Otherwise, the air fryer fits well into my kitchen, and despite its flat, space-saving design, it does not compromise on cooking area. The results have been consistently tasty, and the range of included presets makes it simple for both new and seasoned cooks to get good results. I especially like that the design allows me to batch-cook snacks or meals easily for a couple of hungry people. Overall, I feel the Cartman 4QT Air Fryer delivers solid value for anyone looking to save countertop space without skimping on cooking capacity. If you’re looking for a compact, effective air fryer that can handle family-sized portions but fits under overhead cabinets, this model is well worth considering. Just keep a cloth nearby for those inevitable fingerprint battles, and you’ll be ready for crispy creations in no time. Read more

I already own a Ninja, which is terrific, but I wanted a compact fryer for my son to take to school, so I ordered this. What a frustrating joke this machine is. On our first attempt to air-fry some taquitos, the screen would only light up for a few seconds upon inserting the basket. The power button was totally non-responsive. And what's with the "F1" and "F2" messages on the display? There is no reference to their meaning in the manual. I even looked for instructional You Tube videos, and there aren't any out there, which leads me to believe that no one owns or cares to record happy-user videos. This thing is crap, and now I have to go through the trouble of returning it. I just ordered another Ninja air-fryer, even if it is so large. At least it works, and it does a terrific job and is reliable every time. Read more

It's a nice air fryer but it was a little small for my family. I loved that it was so compact! Read more

This Cartman air fryer has a spacious cooking surface and cooks food well. The feature set is pretty standard and has a relatively high max temp setting of 450F. Its footprint is not that compact at 12.5" wide, but it has a shorter height, which may be good for some kitchens with low cabinets. The shorter height may make this easier to store as it takes less vertical space. Just depends on how your countertop space looks. The adjustability of the fan speed is a nice feature that I'm still learning how to best leverage. Higher fan speeds do seem to help with the crisping action, so this has been great for fried chicken strips. I'm not sure if the lower fan speeds are that useful, but there may be some foods that cook better that way. It's good to have the control. The basket is sized well for cooking for 1 or 2 people. It's a nice square basket that's plenty versatile. On downsides, I found the interface and controls somewhat clunky to use. Some options take more button presses than I would want. The beeps are also loud and shrill, these could have been tuned better. Read more
