Great tall tripod. I'm 6'-6" and I don't have to hunch over to operate the camera. Smooth pan and tilt, great value. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I know this isn't a big brand when it comes to tripods but it works and it's solid. I've been using Cayer tripods for 5 years and they have been reliable for me. On this tripod I love the drop in plate and one stage leg lock features. Both are time savers while on a shoot. Read more
I have been loving this tripod. It is very well made. For its size and features, it doesn't seem that heavy. This thing is super stable. The movement of the head is very, very smooth. With its one step leg drop it is pretty quick to deploy. I highly recommend this tripod. Read more

At 12 pounds, the Cayer FA310H video tripod is not lightweight. An adjustable length, cushioned shoulder strap is included for good reason. There’s also a removable carrying handle. It’s not center-weighted except perhaps for when a larger video camera or DSLR with a long lens is attached, but it could be handy when extracting the tripod from a trunk full of gear and holding it when the legs drop to full extension. There are 1/4- and 3/8-inch threaded connectors on each of two included quick release (QR) mounting plates. The second plate allows for quick transition to a different camera mid-shoot. The plate base works with standard and DJI RS2/RS3 mounts. I’m disappointed that the plate connectors are the slotted head type rather than the popular, tool-free D-ring style. Operation of the QR plates required a few trips to the user manual, but ultimately, they proved more than manageable, providing a quick, versatile and secure foundation for the camera. My Most Valuable Feature Award goes to the Cayer mid-level spreader, which is removable, allowing for adjusting the angle of the tripod legs individually. I have often found adjusting an individual leg to be a quicker, more reliable way of setting the camera angle than using controls available for adjusting the camera platform itself. The FA310H spreader bar takes it a step further by allowing angle adjustments to a single leg or all three. Another plus is the optional QR ball level locking handle. Briefly, it allows the user to make coarse, bare hand adjustments to the tripod head that are otherwise implemented individually by a number of levers, handles and rings—it’s a real time saver that still allows for making fine adjustments before locking the collective results firmly into place. There are a lot of controls built into the head…nearly three and a half pounds worth, including the carrying handle and pan control bar. Any power struggle between this head and a balky camera will be won by the head every time. I appreciate that the detachable pan control bar is adjustable length to suit the size and weight of any up-to-22-pound payload. Things at the opposite end of the tripod are detachable, too—the rubber feet can be removed to reveal dual spikes for gripping uneven surfaces. The design is impressive, but things that can be removed are destined to be misplaced. There has to be a better way. Another concern, I soon learned that the space between the leg QR lever and bottom of the height adjustment bracket is a great place to get your fingers pinched when retracting the legs. Handle with care. Included are a quality, zippered carrying bag with soft handles and a large, zippered inner pocket; three, L-shaped hex wrenches; the second QR plate and a tiny but helpful user manual. Read more
