I have a number of higher end / more costly shoe trees and these work just as well for a fraction of the cost. The key for shoe trees are the material, and these are made of genuine cedar just like the best. I mostly wear a size 10, so the large fit perfectly. I have 1 pair of 9.5 and after some squishing I got them to fit in. Even if you don't need 6, would recommend getting the value and buying the 6 to keep a couple spare for any future shoe purchases. The main benefits: 1) Helps shoe keep form and prevents serious creasing. 2) Leather shoes also tend to shrink over time, so this prevents that. 3) Helps keep the shoes smelling and staying fresh. The sweat in our feet cause moisture in the shoe and the cedar in these trees wick that moisture from both develop odors and also from causing the leather from deteriorating 4) Makes your shoe collection look more impressive on the shelf Will be buying more when needed! unfortunately going to have to exchange from a large to a medium. I'm a 10.5 / 11 (US Mens) depending on the type of shoe. I have a medium width foot, maybe mid to narrow. I didn't understand the size chart so went by the questions / answers and consensus was a large for my size. What might be helpful to understand is that these trees are split down the middle and designed to widen the more the tree is compressed in the shoe. You can't select the widths indicated on the size chart, those are generally how wide or narrow the tree will be based on it's compression in the shoe. I've used shoe trees for 10 years, have a half dozen pair and all have been one piece, so this is new to me. For my size 10.5 loafers, the tree was fairly compressed, making a width of E (see chart), 2 up from the widest. The medium would be less compressed (in theory), making the width a "C". Much more suited not only to my foot width but my preference in not wanting good shoes to stretch sideways. Using this logic, the size chart is saying a Large is recommended for a size 14 for the most narrow foot, or a size 9 for the widest foot. Hopefully this long winded review helps you choose not only the right size, but how much or little you're looking to stretch the width of your shoe. the product was exactly as advertised. the cedar wood was smooth and unfinished (some of the pictures for other shoe trees look like they have a finish on them, which would hinder the raw cedar's aromatic benefits) and slides perfectly into all of my shoes. I'm a size 11 D/E, and even my older shoes that have been stretched a little are benefitting from these trees. If you are looking for 6 shoe trees and and don't want to spend $40/tree, buy these.
