These are great gel memory foam mattresses. The 8" is a little thinner than I expected but it gives plenty of protection from the flat surface of the adjustable bed frames I got to go with it. As soon as the plastic was snipped you could hear the air getting sucked into the bag and the mattresses started expanding. The hard part was getting the plastic cover off the growing mattress. My husband and I wrestled with it and finally got it off. I got two extra long twin mattresses because we are elderly and it is harder to make a king sized bed. The mattresses have no smell, look great, are very comfortable, and fit the twin EXL adjustable beds I got to go with them fine. We used a king sized sheet set to make the beds and it fit fine. I plan to get some twin EXL sheets eventually to make it even easier but for now the king sized works fine. Just be sure to order the product you want the first time because there is a no refund policy for these mattresses. I didn't know the difference between split king and twin EXL and ordered the split king first. Then I remembered a friend said it was hard to put the sheets on the split king mattresses because they have to pull them off the bed to reach the middle. So I changed the order to the twin EXL mattresses and ordered two twin EXL adjustable bed frames to go with them. Eventually we can set the beds further apart as it will be easier to make the twin beds than a king sized one. I could not cancel the split king order in time so the company is allowing me to return it since the box was not opened but I have to pay about $80 for shipping. This mattress is perfect. It's thick and comfortable. I bought it to go on an adjustable bed frame that I bought at the same time. It's 10" thick, and works perfectly with the frame. It is well-made, and holds its shape. It keeps me in place in the bed, whether I am on my side, or on my back. The surface is uniform and solid. It's called,"medium-firm", so it supports my little extra body weight perfectly. It reached its full shape in a couple of hours, I think. I put a heated mattress cover and flannel sheets on it, and they fit well, and stay in place. Because it comes in an over-sized box, and it weighs about 40 pounds, Amazon shipped it FedEx Ground, so the driver had a dolly to bring it up a flight of stairs to my apartment. I love this new bed, after having surgery. Also, the mattress looks like it appears in the picture-sharp, and well-made. I called the company before I ordered it, to make sure it would work with an adjustable (electric, remote controlled) frame, because it shows in the ad that it has a bottom liner. When i first opened wasn’t sure what to think. We ordered a full size. It did not look it! But after i cut the plastic and unfolded it and it started to inflate it actually is a full. So far it is soft and comfy reminds me of memory foam and it’s soft. It’s firm but not too firm. Not bad for the price. It did not have an odor of any kind. I’m thinking after a few months of constant sleeping on it i believe it will wear thin and be uncomfortable but we shall see. I should have called the company first. I was afraid to order medium soft and have it too soft, but with my fibromyalgia I should have. I have not done well on a platform bed since I switched from my full temper pedic to a twin. I need box springs but they don’t make them. I had to add and extra foam pad. Read more
