The handle spring does not hold the hair tightly to the barrel. You have to push up from underneath to try to keep the hair in place. I had a different travel size curler before that had a nice tight spring. This one is difficult to use. Pros: It does get hot and creates good curl. Read more

This is the second curling iron of this type I have purchased. My previous one finally needed replacing due to the finish starting to chip off the underside of the barrel clip and the barrel hair clip not holding the hair tight anymore. This is after considerable amount of use. It is the perfect size for travel and for my short hair. It may be small for a large hand to hold but I have large hands and am able to use it effectively.
