My kitchen backsplash is nearly the same color as this little ceramic shell so it looks very pretty on the edge of my sink holding my sponge. The shape is cute and matches my beachy home motif. The item is blemish free, nicely painted, and heavier than it looks. Because it's holding a wet sponge, I appreciate the little reservoir inside the base that catches and keeps the residual water. Being smooth ceramic all around, cleaning it is as simple wiping it with a soapy sponge and it's back to doing its job. If I can manage not to break it, I hope to enjoy it for many years to come. Really cute, but a little smaller than I expected. A standard yellow cello sponge with the scrubby on one side just barely fits in there, (in width), you can of have to push it in to fit. The photo in the ad shows the sponge in the older with room to spare on both ends. I buy the standard sponges, they are all about the same size..maybe the company trimmed their sponges to look perfect in the marketing photos. But still, it's pretty cute and nice and heavy so it doesn't fall over. Read more
