Perfect thickness. Lays flat in a couple of hours. I have it on carpet with no issues. Read more
Be Careful! This is a soft vinyl product. It will be great for hard carpets but is too soft for household bedroom styled carpet with padding and cut loops. But it still might be a great option for you. In America, Farm Stores sell what is called rubber trailer mats, or horse stall mats. They are a recycled product. Rather amazing product really. Buy the 1/2 inch kind. It comes as a mat or sometimes on a roll. Cut it to size with a good quality box knife. Put the rubber mat on top of the carpet (it will be black of course) and the put the vinyl mat of top of that. Neither will slide around and it will act like the hard kind of chair mat... Read more

It was hard to know how to rate this, because although it may be adequate for around 1/8" (they say 1/4") carpet, it is totally unsuitable for most carpet you would find in a home. In fact, I will say that if you haven't installed the thin, high traffic business carpet where you plan to put this, then look elsewhere. It might be fine for use with the thin carpet, but you have to read the description carefully to see the "low-pile" caveat, and there the material is not at all chamfered on the edge. When your chair pushes the material down into the carpet, the plastic warps and the edges of the plastic stick up. For my own use, it is only marginally helpful in facilitating movement of my chair, but perhaps it's better than nothing, and my old one was beginning to crack and split. I'll probably use this one until I find a more suitable one, but I'm going to see what I can find at a local office store before I risk another mail order. The old maxim has been proved again--you get what you pay for. One last thought: A layer of Masonite with a layer of thin carpet on top to put under this mat might work, but It would be better just to put that money toward a better mat (probably glass). Not as thick as it should be. Chair presses into the mat causing it to not move good. Read more
I work from home and have tried at least 10 different mats under my rolling desk chair. This mat is fantastic...large enough to not roll over the edges and cause a problem and it does not move at all. Very happy with this product. Read more
DO NOT BUY!!! Way thinner than advertised. Falsely advertised as 'for Carpeted Floors'. I have probably the cheapest-ass carpet and padding you can get and this mat still dents like it's on sand. Not only that, but it's been unrolled for 2 months and still won't lie flat and looks like I just unrolled it. My chair has a hard time rolling and if this thing lasts a year I'll come back here and eat my words. Read more
