Charmian Womens Steampunk Gothic Brocade Steel Boned Bustier Corset with Buckle

Ordered this for my girlfriend so this is her review: I have been wanting to buy my first corset for quite a while. And after hours of searching, comparing, measuring, reviews, more searching, more measuring.. once I finally decided this was the one I loved the most, using the size guide provided, I chose the size that fit the best with my measurements. I'm approx 5'7" 230 lbs and I normally wear a 38 DD bra, XL-XXL shirt and 16-18 in jeans, so I ordered it in the 6XL. The item was scheduled to arrive the 12th of January, and it did. I immediately tried it on and with some loosening and tightening of the laces it fit beautifully. The color, material and design are gorgeous, the stitching looks secure and of good quality. I'm in love with the the front clasps and the buckles on the sides as those were the details that attracted me the most. The cord laces on the back are a bit on the long side which is the only con I have to this item, but it's such a minimal concern, since they could be replaced, that it doesn't turn me off this corset at all. I had purchased another corset the same day I ordered this one, but was not pleased with it, it's sizing being wrong even after following the size/measurement chart and the bust of it not giving any support whatsoever, so I need to return it. I haven't had a corset in years and never a real one that laced at the back. I did a rough measurement and ordered the 3XL. I'm normally a size 8 in dresses and wear a B cup. The 3XL fit great. I was able to make it snug but not so tight I couldn't eat food at the Halloween parties I visited haha. The construction of the corset was top quality, though as some other reviewers mentioned the buckles on the side are really decorative and might not hold up to any pressure. The "steel" boning felt like it might have been a less strong material, but as I'm using this for costumes, not waist-training, I don't mind. The latches on the front were a beautiful touch, but kept opening up randomly the first night I wore it. Definitely have a friend handy to help tighten the back. This is the third corset I have ordered because the first one was way to big, the second one was way too small. But this one was just right. It's got a very pretty color scheme and pattern that will look good mixed with any color. The hooks clasps on the front to some getting used to in order to close them properly, and the middle one did have a tendency to pop open, but I think that was because the back was tied too tight. I wore this with a bra because I am extremely voluptuous and needed the extra support as I suspect the boning is plastic, except for the closure area, and over a ruffle shirt with a bustle skirt, and I got compliments all night long. You also want to make sure that the laces in the back untied and very loose until after you close up the front, that way it will be easier to close. The fabric on both the outside and inside is very soft against the skin, and this is very comfortable to wear. However I would not recommend this for genuine waist training even though it did reduce my natural waistline by about 2 inches, but to be a true waist trainer it needs to have a minimum of 24 steel bones. Overall I would say that this is a very nice corset and was worth the money. And if you like wearing thong underwear, a matching thong came with it so you get a complete outfit at a great price, and nowadays, that's a wonderful thing! One note on sizing: I am 5'3" I weigh 160lbs, and I normally do not wear any tips larger then a juniors xl, but these run small so I had to order a 4xl, but their size chart (not the Amazon one) is accurate, but if your bust is bigger than your natural waistline, go by what the sellers size chart says for your bust size because you can always reduce the waist with the laces in the back. I also have a very short torso but this corset was the perfect length even in a size 4xl. I gave it only 4 stars because as you can see in the second photo, one of the latches kept popping open all night. Read more

I ordered the 4XL (43in bust/hips, 36in waist) according to the size chart but it was too big so I exchanged for the 3XL which was also too big, I ended up with the 2XL. Thanks for being a prime item so that exchanging was easy. This corset is incredibly well made and simply gorgeous. I love it. It is flattering and fits perfectly. It is surprisingly comfortable for a corset. I will definitely purchase more from this company in the future. Read more

I think it's beautiful! It's steel boned, you can feel it in the heft but I also tested it with a magnet. I usually wear a 36-38D or DD (depending on the brand) of bra and wear a 16-18 and so I got this corset in a 5X just to be on the safe side as corsets tend to run a little smaller. It fits except that I can cinch the top all the way closed and it's still a bit too loose around the girls. I'll be returning it and getting a size smaller. I could probably get away with the looser fit at the top other than it doesn't look as nice and the extra give allows for the first clasp to undo itself which wouldn't be good either. Other than that it fit very well everywhere else and I think it looks great. I'll post pictures when I get the smaller size, too (I have found the reviewer pictures to be very helpful in my corset shopping venture so I can see what it looks like on someone with a similar body to mine since we all have unique figures) Read more

This corset is SO comfortable and extremely well made and pretty for the price. I'm a 40 x 34 x 42 and ordered both the 3X and 4X to try. 3X is a snug fit but laces closed with the panel in back (which is really good and wide btw). 4X is super comfy but a bit large in the bust so it was best worn over a bra or clothing (rennaisance garb in my case). While they probably wouldn't meet criteria for those looking for true waist cinchers/corsets, they're cute af and were exactly what I was looking for. Find your size and go for it! Read more
