Medical-grade keyboards have unique features that make them suitable for medical environments. Their sealed surface prevents water, dust, and other dirt from penetrating the inside electronics. I've considered a medical keyboard for home and office use because my typical keyboards get gross over time. I think that is common; tip your keyboard over, give it a few taps, and watch crumbs, whiskers, and fuzz fall out. Inspecting the keys will show sticky discoloration down the sides. Cleaning such keyboards is a chore because the keycaps may have to be removed to get under and around them. You must also be careful what cleaning chemicals you use because you can erase the lettering. After a long cold and flu season, you should consider cleaning your keyboard because it can make you sick again. Another common bug researchers have discovered is staphylococcus aureus, a classic cause of food poisoning with signs of nausea and diarrhea. Accordingly, stomach sicknesses caught from computer equipment have been dubbed "qwerty tummy" after the "Q-W-E-R-T-Y" keys on a keyboard. Medical keyboards have a membrane across the top, so crumbs and coffee spills cannot enter the crevices under and between the keys. You can wipe across the entire surface or even soak this Cherry Store keyboard in dishwater. Competing keyboards boast of being dishwasher-safe, but this high-priced keyboard does not, despite its IP68 rating. Running this through the dishwasher is overkill anyway. Despite the membrane cover, the keys beneath still have enough travel to feel right. I've been typing all day, and the keys' feel is smooth and silent. The full-sized keyboard layout fits my fingers so that every key is where I expect as I touch-type along. The main difference is that the keys need to be taller to feel landmarks, such as when I reach for the four arrow keys. I will get used to this. Overall, I am surprised at how much I like this. This Cherry Store keyboard is very expensive, but the idea that I can take a Clorox wipe and thoroughly clean it in less than 30 seconds intrigues me. It even has a function button to disable the keys so I don't mistype while wiping. This option is superior to an hour of tapping, banging, compressed-air spraying, and Q-tipping. Read more

This keyboard is great. It looks good and works well. It's completely sealed. While marketed for the medical field it would work great for those with small children or just clumsy or accident prone like me. lol No more worrying about coffee spills or crumbs from chips. Read more

I'll be totally honest. I got the Cherry Clean Keyboard for The Medical Industry because I eat (and drink) a lot when I'm at my PC. Traditional keyboards were always a pain to clean the crumbs and whatnot trapped in the crevices, and now I no longer have to do that. I love that I simply have to press the Fn (function), and 'Clean On/Off' keys in order to lock the keys for a quick wipe-down. Other good things about this Cherry keyboard is not only the white color (which doesn't show dust as much as black), but also the almost silent operation, which is a boon for podcasters and other content creators. I'm absolutely thrilled to use the Cherry Clean Keyboard for The Medical Industry, and highly recommend it. Once you go Cherry, you won't want to go back to go back to what you had before! :) Read more

This silicone wrapped keyboard works very well. I use disinfectant on it two - three times a day. It remains stark white. I’m a retired nurse and I can see these being used in a medical facility. The only con I have with this is that it’s corded. I think in a medical situation a uncorded keyboard is a nice thing to have. This keyboard is quiet and I love the feel of the keys. I do like being able to remove the cord for cleanings. I do hope you can bring the price of it down cause I believe it’s too expensive. But what do I know, I’m just a retired nurse…..lol. Read more

I love this keyboard; it works phenomenal and very easy to clean. While I am not using it in a medical setting, I have seen keyboards like this in medical settings. Honestly it is very practical in the home as well. Very easy to clean, great use for children or those who work/eat around the keyboard. Keyboards anywhere harbor dangerous bacteria and this keyboard makes that no longer an issue. Highly Recommend! Read more

I'm using this keyboard as we speak and I absolutely love it. The keys are nice and easy to press and it is super quiet. I dont work in the medical field, but I do eat at my desk, so I'm constantly finding crumbs in my keyboard. lol. This keyboard is so easy to wipe clean with a lysol wipe, and there is a key to turn it on and off easily so you can wipe clean without having to unplug it. Very nice keyboard and I will never go back! Read more
