Does Not Look or Feel Like Satin
I like the design on this pillowcase, but it neither looks nor feels like satin. It also is not as vibrant as in the photo, but is kind of blurry and muted. It feels like 70s era polyester. I have been slowly replacing my cotton and microfiber pillowcases with satin ones, due to their supposed benefits for your hair. Put next to my other pillows in satin cases, this lacks the shine and the slipperiness that satin pillowcases have. It is not soft like satin, cotton, and microfiber are. It is not cooling. This pillowcase will be relegated to one of my decorative pillows versus one I sleep on, because whatever this fabric actually is, it's not the best for sleeping on. (In various places on the product page, it says silk-satin, microfiber, and polyester. I think it is cheap polyester most likely, because as I said, it lacks the feeling or texture of either silk or satin.) It also claims to be wrinkle free fabric, but it came out of the package with creases and wrinkles. This pillowcase is also a strange size. I struggled to get my queen-sized pillow in the case, as the zipper restricts the width you have for inserting. Once I managed to get my pillow in this case, the case did not fit snugly. The corners on all 4 sides have no pillow in them and are just air. To be honest, expecting a pillowcase that feels and looks like satin, and getting something totally different, I am disappointed. The zipper is nice, because it keeps the pillow from sliding out of the case, but it also makes it onerous to get a pillow in and out. But the zipper is the only reason I am giving this three stars versus two. The material is not as described, and the sizing on the case itself is strange. I definitely do not think this is a $17 pillowcase in quality or feel. As such, I am reluctant to recommend this pillowcase. I do not feel the product page accurately describes what you are getting at all. Read more
