Absolutely gorgeous! I was worried it wouldn't be opaque but it is! One to 2 coats is all thats needed. Its a gorgeous cool toned bright red with glitter, perfect for people with cool or neutral leanjng cool undertones. It's not a super fine glitter that Id call a shimmer, but it's not a big chunky childlike glitter either, its subtle but noticeable. I bought the color Ruby Pumps and it is a beautiful red jelly micro-glitter polish that I think everyone should get. To start, the formula is one of China Glaze's best. It's not too thick or too thin, glides on the nail smoothly, no pooling, no brush strokes and levels out nicely. The red jelly base is pretty opaque on the first coat, but is definitely a 2-3 coater if you want full opacity. As for the micro-glitter, it's red, really fine and shows through the jelly base, especially in daylight. Really sparkly! However, like most red polishes and micro-glitter polishes for that matter, it's really messy to remove but at least I haven't had any staining after removal. Not a deal breaker by any means. As for wear, the polish lasted me a good 5-6 days til chipping starts to occur so decent wear time. Note: I use OPI base coat and Seche Vite top coat. Overall, Ruby Pumps is one of China Glaze's best classic polishes and my 2nd favorite red in my collection (1st being OPI Danke-Shiny Red). I really recommend it since it's a great color for everyone to have, especially since the holidays are coming soon! Read more

I'm not a big fan of red nail polishes, but I fell in love with this color when I saw it swatched on a nail polish blog I frequent. I immediately made my way over to Amazon and snagged myself a bottle. The minute I got it in my hands it was like falling in love all over again. I got it on my nails and...well, you see the trend by now. It sparkles beautifully in indoor lighting, but it comes to life in sunlight. Dorothy's ruby red slippers don't have anything on this shade. The formula is great and it applies well. I got full opacity in just two coats, and the drying time is pretty quick. The polish is amazing by itself but put a top coat on and ba-da-bing ba-da-boom! First off, the polish looks very glittery and deep red. You can tell it is more than just a glitter unlike Sally Hansen red carpet. (also pretty). This is a deep rich red with shimmer (yes, shimmer- not glitter.) which catches the light and really makes the red pop. Surprisingly not gaudy. I purchased this as an update for my mother's classic red nails and it was intended to be a Christmas present but I gave it to her tonight so she could use it for our family party. First sight and she loved it. When she made the comment she didn't have strong or pretty nails I told her it had hardeners which she was thrilled. Also as a note to if you change polishes alot- get some vitamin e oil or stick and apply it to your cuticles. I have thyroid problems (hypothyroidism) and my nail polish peels right off and chips almost instantaniously but has not been doing so nearly as bad since I use vitamin e at night in between nail polishes. The media could not be loaded. Not a usually a loyal customer, but I'd be miffed if China Glaze stopped making Ruby Slippers. Wish there was a black or gunmetal gray version of this formula I love the size of the flake/glitter, the versatility- alone it is a beautiful strawberry jam- like color with the perfect size sparkle & glistens majestically with one top coat. Reminds Me of the finish on a classic car & I have not found a suitable replacement. This can give oomph to a variety of other polishes underneath. If I want to switch up from another polish a day or two later Ie; black, purple, navy blue- just about any polish color- I can apply this over it with topcoat and get a nice result. Look, obviously I'm not a professional: these nails were painted in a dimly lit room a few days ago, and I just finished some housework without moisturizing, so it's not the best footage, but it's honest. Products used: Sally Hansen 5 in 1 for base & top coat (pink bottle), 1 coat of Color Club Ghosted, 1 coat of Ruby slippers, home grown nails. My favorite way to wear this one is over TFB Got Yacht or similar (a deep navy blue), which then pulls as black cherry with carmine flake. Like with most nailpolishes, topcoat is your friend when trying to make it last. I've washed dishes, pryed packages open and have been doing the usual job of beating my nails up. Didn't prep/moisturize before review- just finished some cleaning & dehydrated at the time of this video, so Amazon land will just have to deal with the mummy hand look, haha.
