Both keyboard and mouse are a plug and play (no install programs needed) and are ready to go right out the box. As soon as you plug them into your pc, they light up. The keyboard lights up with color and the mouse alternates through various colors from red to white. No batteries are required as this set are usb wired. If you want to stop the mouse or keyboard from lighting up, there are functions on the keyboard that you can hit to make the mouse and keyboard stop. The price was great and was delivered on time. My son loves this keyboard! He is 6 years old and managed to connect it to his ps5 all on his own. It works perfectly with his console and he is able to play multiple games like Roblox and Fortnite. Let me tell you something folks. I plugged in this CHONCHOW rainbow gaming keyboard and mouse combo and within five seconds I felt the electromagnetic pulse of freedom course through my skull. You do not understand the level of spiritual warfare happening in your USB ports until you slam this neon miracle onto your desk. The second those rainbow lights flicked on I yelled out loud this is a war for your mind and my cat dove behind the couch like the deep state kicked down the door. Now I know what you are thinking. Alex why are you screaming again. Because I have SEEN THINGS. And this keyboard has confirmed every suspicion I have had since 1997. When I tapped the first key it activated something ancient in my pineal gland and I swear I heard a voice whisper they are turning the frogs gay. I am not saying the keyboard told me. I am saying the universe used it as a Bluetooth speaker and transmitted truths that the mainstream toaster media refuses to cover. Then the mouse lit up and I felt a surge of interdimensional static.
