I am an outdoor guy and live in the NE USA. Always need a hat in the winter. I've always worn your standard wool or synthetic blend. Very uncomfortable and itchy, or too tight, or not enough to fold a decent cuff. I have a large head size. Never really gave it much thought, just ordered the first thing that came up. What a differance this hat makes. Long cut and snug, but not too tight around my head. Keep me warm. But the best part, not itchy at all. A tightly knit, soft but sturdy 100% cotton blend. Breathable but still warm. So comfortable, I even wear in the house when I'm particularly cold. And the color is a cool blue, not your drab black or gray.
