The material looks like real wood unless you take a close look and touch it. It's not super heavy like real wood but not light weight like most tables in the same price range. The laminate peeled off much more easily than I expected when I tried to remove a sticker that my 3yo son put on the top of the table. But the peeled part doesn't really stand out, so it's ok... I have had this coffee table for five months and a half of the leg section just gave out sending everything on top of it sliding off. It was really cute and matched everything in my living room until everything was on the floor. Not the most great quality but I definitely expect it to last more than five months. I wanted to love this bc from afar it looks great but it came with some defects. It seems that this is some type of sticker on top not wood or not even fake wood. The sticker has air bubbles and it is cracking. I’m very cautious with how I care for all my furniture and don’t have small children in the house so I can only imagine how bad this would be if you do. Not worth the price in my opinion. I started to contact seller but I see that it directs you to the website which then directs you back to Amazon so idk what to do at this point! I don’t have the box to ship this back but I would definitely love to get my money back as I am genuinely not happy with this purchase and the quality of it.
