Leg holes might be too small

My 4 year old loves these undies, but they are a bit miss sized for him. I bought the size (4) and he is 41" tall and weights 33 pounds. A skinny mini kid for sure! The leg holes are cut pretty small, so if unless your child has skinny thighs these might be too tight! The cut is also very modest, meaning there is lots of coverage at the hip so they look more like boxer briefs once on your child. They fit my son perfect in the legs, and there is lots of material in the crotch area so his little parts don't fall out the leg holes. The "fly" on the size 4 is fake which is good for us. He didn't like his little member slipping out the fly on his old undies. I actually had to sew the fly shut on his old ones! The waist is where we run into problems. They are loose in the waist so when he crouches down, both the back of his pants and his undies poke out so his little crack shows. It's not that the undies slide down, it's just they aren't tight enough in the waist. I got a great deal on these at $7 per 3 pack, so for that price I can sew new elastic in that will snug them up. They are very soft, wash up nice, and do shrink some. If you go to their web site they have a sizing chart that is fairly different then Amazon's sizing chart. We ordered according to the sizing chart on their website. To be fair my son's waist is smaller then what they have listed on their website, so it's not surprising they are big in that area. However if he was larger I think the leg holes would be too tight. Read more

Size 6 fits my small 5yo

My 5yo wears a 4 or 5 in most things. Never a 6. After reading reviews, I decided to try the 6. They looked big on arrival but reviews said they shrink and they do shrink after a cold wash and low heat dry. My son measures 21” hip and 12.5-13” thigh and the 6 is a great fit with the perfect amount of room to grow. I bought these because the cheap character boxer briefs he gravitates toward have a seam right up the middle and I suspected the seam was making him constantly fidgety and uncomfortable. My kid doesn’t like the solid color but as soon as he touched the underwear, he fell in love. I wish they were organic for the price, but the quality and comfort outweigh that issue. No itching or discomfort so far!! As a boy mom of three, I’m happy with these and wish I found them with boy 1 because these seem like they would make it through 3 kids. The quality feels like the old Hanna Andersson thick quality cotton. Read more

Bang for the Buck!

Made in America and a quality that shows. My kindergartener loves these briefs so much, he's asked me to buy more. I purchased the blues and green 3 pack, and the colors have stayed bright. Easy to toss in the washer and dryer, and I did not see any color bleeding not did I see shrinkage or shape changing. The material is a nice thickness... Thicker than the run of the mill boys briefs, but not like the training undies, either. These undies do have a tag, but it is soft and flexible and my son has not complained. The tag doesn't wash away, either, so the size is identifiable for a reminder when it's time for the next size ;). Though it looks like there could be a "hole" in the front, there is not one (can't tell you the purpose of that "vent" for a young kid anyway.) Upon the polite insistence from my little guy, I will be purchasing another pack. The price is higher on these, but the quality, and the fact that it is made in my home country, I feel the purchase is well worth the price paid. I highly recommend these made in America underwear! Underwear He Actually Wears!

My son is on the Autism spectrum and potty training has been difficult. Finding the right underwear has been a task. We spent a good amount of money buying underwear for him that he would just not wear. I saw the reviews for City Threads Briefs and a lot of moms said they were very soft and sensory-friendly, so I decided to buy ONE 3-pack to try out. Of COURSE my son absolutely loves them! They're super super super soft, and such great quality! Once we knew he would actually wear them, I purchased 3 more 3-packs. They are definitely a bit pricey, but they WILL hold up. I typically wash all of my clothes in tepid water and always dry on low heat as to avoid shrinking. They have held up to numerous washings so far! I definitely recommend these briefs for children with sensory issues. There are no tags, and nothing that will "dig in" to sensitive skin. Read more

Pricey but very nice quality

These underpants cost about 3 times what I usually pay for boys' underwear, but they are beautiful - soft fabric, flat seams, great colors, very comfortable, especially the waistband, which doesn't have a wide band of elastic like most boys' underwear. My skinny 7yo usually wears a size 6-7/S or even 4-5/XS, but based on the reviews I ordered size 8 and they fit perfectly. Read more
