Here is why I rated it 4 stars in one sentence. Not enough thread length to allow a good snug alignment. Here is more on that note. Good quality for the price. You can’t buy galvanized pipe and the paint nor buy black iron pipe for this price. Down fall is-it is still thinner pipe than galvanized pipe, therefore you risk breaking it if you try to tighten it too far trying to get it to line up correctly. I didn’t dare crank it to the right alignment so I had to take several pieces apart wrap 4 to 5 (stretched, pulled tightly) wraps of electrical tape on the threads to get it tight enough when lined up. This is way more difficult than it needs to be to put together. It’s pretty simple but a pain in the butt because you have to make modifications with electrical tape. You ask why electrical tape? Only because it’s black and it hides if you still have tape showing. With galvanized you can tighten it and then tighten it more to line it up to the right position. My Overall Thoughts This is cheaper in cost but more difficult. If I did it again, I would spend more money and buy galvanized pipe, put it together clean off the protective coating and paint it. The problem with this design, is the engineer has probably never used real pipe before. Pipe is strong enough but the design flaw is too short of thread length. Needs more tapered thread ends.
