I’m very impressed with the quality of this lantern. Even the low (warm light/power saving) mode provides more than enough light to light my entire living room. It’s great for power outages or just taking out for some portable light. It’s great that you can run AA batteries after the rechargeable battery runs out for extended outages. I think at this price point it’s punching way above its weight. If you need a lantern for outages or just for daily use but don’t want to break the bank, I recommend this one. Read more

Bright, durable, affordable, many functions! Easy to use as well. Smaller in size - good personal, bedside, backpack lantern. Only buy coast lights now and after seeing the 2500 luman lantern my father had I grabbed this one! If you’re looking for a good house, RV size get the 2500 one. Read more

This lantern is indeed for astronomy. It's a different press pattern to go directly to red. Most lanterns and flashlights are constructed so you have to go through the brightest white light to get to red, which destroys night vision for almost 40 minutes until you can see at night again. This one doesn't do that. Functions well, good bright red light (not like others), charges fast, and easy to use. The charging cable stores inside, and there is battery backup. Coast knows how to do lighting and for astronomy. I highly recommend this lantern for astronomers for sky atlas reading on the table. It also has white light with a separate press pattern to go to white light when everyone is finished observing. Read more

Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 only because have had it only a couple of weeks, so don't know how it will hold up. Several months ago I bought one of the teeny little Coast flashlights, was so happy with it decided to order another and while ordering that second one decided I could use a lantern too. Like to have these on hand for emergencies. Those little flashlights are also excellent for travel. Read more

This is a great little camp light. It has a sea recharger. You can use it as a power bank if you want. But it’s just a great little camp light. And it starts on the lowest light level setting. It’s dark you turn your lamp on and it doesn’t blind you. If you need more light, you can turn it up. Other camping lamps start out fully bright. I like this one. Read more

Does really well for pricepoint 20usd +tax. I'm using warm mode low 110L mostly, and steady red.15hr runtime on low warm confirmed.Red runtime = ?.. Red selectable from off =great. Two modes above warm are very bright 520L 1000L if you need them. Waterproofness is ok ,normal for most lanterns..Put in a big ziploc if it's going to see storm use. Really like the 4AA backup power source being avail. I like running two at a time on low. Streamlight Siege Glare Guard 44950 does fit well enough.brightg#y has it cheap.Add aluminum foil.. I prefer 180 degree output. Trying EAL40R or 50 when i can. Read more
