I ordered these boots in black to pair with my fall wardrobe. These are a great style for everyday wear. Depending on what you pair with them, they can be dressed up or down. The heel isn't too tall, so they can be worn for a longer period of time without hurting your feet. They fit true to size and the calf circumference was a good size. I can sometimes struggle with boots being too tight on my rather large calves. I have actually purchased wide calf boots in the past. I was pleased to find that these fit perfect on my calves without pinching. These were fairly easy to put on, especially when worn with a thinner, sock / knee-high. The leather is of good quality and is soft to the touch. I am very pleased with my purchase and feel that the quality of Cole Haan shoes is worth the premium price tag. The leather upper of these boots is warm, soft, and appears to be good quality. Unfortunately, the soles have not held up at all. After just over one month of minimal wear, the rubber soles began cracking, chipping, and deteriorating along the edges (as shown in the photos). These boots were not worn in snow, ice, or harsh conditions, which makes this level of damage especially disappointing. For a brand and price point like Cole Haan, I expected significantly better durability. While the boots look nice initially, the poor quality of the sole makes them impractical for long-term wear. I am so in love with these boots! Cole Haan is a brand that I’ve always loved. You can trust that they only use high quality material and that they are well made. I ordered these boots in a size 6. My shoe size is between a 5 1/2-6 normally. I tried it on, and it fits perfectly. The boots end right at my lower knee. Each boot has a zipper that helps to put it on your feet as well as take it off. These boots would look great with pants, skirts or dresses. There are so many ways that you can style it with your outfits. The gold buckle detailing is also a nice touch that adds extra pizazz to a classic look. Wow, excellent boots, and I chose black for versatility. This has a zip closure at the ankle only, which does work. I couldn’t get the stuffing/cardboard/foam out of the boot, and I unzipped it, which worked quickly. I love the materials, which have a similar appearance to leather—stiffer than I expected, however, it works best with this look, and it is not an uncomfortable boot. The buckles are pretty and covered with paper initially. There is a loop of sorts in the back of the heel, and the design of the upper is Western. The way the heel and outsole look and feel is quite sturdy, with attention to design aspects and comfort. The boots look fabulous, and I can appreciate that they fit okay with my 5’4” height and longer legs. The insole is not padded, but the lining material is smooth and soft. This will make an excellent gift for your loved one. I live too far away for in-person gifting, so I recommend Amazon’s gift service for convenience and reliability, and they are customizable as well. Select an option at checkout. This is not a cheaply made pair of shoes, nor are they sold at a low price. They are worth good money, and I would pay it if I had the means. These can be cleaned with a damp cloth, and you may use an appropriate cleaner. Check the materials these are made from on the product page, and look up a cleaner for it on Amazon.
