These truly are the nicest shoes I own. They are incredibly comfortable and you can walk for miles in them because the sole is so thick. The quality is impeccable. Long ago and far away in a magical land called Brooklyn I found at a secondhand store a pair of men’s leather Chelsea boots that fit me perfectly. (Okay a little loosely.) Footwear serendipity! They became my fall/winter uniform for many a year and I have basically worn them to death. It’s long past time to get a new pair but I’ve been loathe to let my old pals go. Enter these! I wear a size 8.5 shoe but typically buy size 9s, so I can insert arch support orthotics. In a 9, these fit me and the orthotics but don’t leave much room to spare. I love the sleek look, the quality feel, the on-trend (and safety-minded!) lug soles. The leather smells like real leather. These are seriously so classic and minimalist chic. Great for walking, which is a must. The loop to pull them on is much appreciated though I wish it were a titch larger, to better fit my finger. It DOES take more effort to get these on than I would prefer. I can’t just step into them yet, it requires sitting down and doing some tugging because the ankle shaft is narrow and stiff. Speaking of which… My biggest complaint is that the top edge is quite rigid against the front of my shins and immediately chafes. I’ll need to wear these with tall socks to ensure they don’t rub too much on my bare skin. I’m hoping this will improve over time as they get broken in — and perhaps I’m overly sensitive to the issue since I got used to my slightly large men’s boots — but we’ll see. That’ll ultimately be the deciding factor for me on whether these are worth the price! Read more

My wife is very happy to have these slip-on boots. These leather upper boots are of high-quality construction and have a very comfortable tread. The only issue for my wife is that the lower-back portion of the boot (around the heel and ankle) curves inward more than expected, causing some rubbing at the back of her Achilles heel. Read more
