Honestly, I would not buy this product again. While I did appreciate the thin nature of this mat, the black “coating” was flicking off over the first many many months. I’m sure this was part of the normal wear process but it was not something I was anticipating. Further, I’ve had the map for less than one year all the edging is now fraying. In all fairness, this mat is at a heavily used work desk. It’s a beautiful mat that may do better in a less used environment. Read more

This Color&Geometry chair mat is a thick, high-quality floor mat, which is great for protecting my hardwood floor in the office. However, despite being designed for hard floors, I did find that it tended to slide around quite a bit under my office chair. To keep it securely in place, I had to use double-sided carpet tape all around the edges. This fixed the issue entirely, and now it stays exactly where I put it. The mat itself has a nice density; the rollers on my office chair do sink into it a little, but it's not super hard. This slight give is actually quite nice, as it helps to keep the chair somewhat in place without making it difficult to roll around. The problem was just that the chair's movement would shift the whole mat. With the addition of the tape, it's now performing perfectly and is keeping the rollers on my office chair from scuffing up the floor, which was my main goal. It's a good quality mat, but be prepared to secure it if you have hardwood floors. Read more

My wife is setting up part of the master bedroom as an office for us both. Top of her list was a chair mat to protect the oak flooring. We did not know how badly an office chair could mar oak until my younger son moved out. My wife refused to use her new office chair until we found a mat. I ordered this from Amazon and it was here the next day. Really! It arrived rolled up in a box. I had no idea how long it would take for the mat to flatten out. How about, immediately? The mat unrolls with the curved side down. It takes almost no time for it to flatten enough that an office chair with regular wheels can roll right onto to it. My chair with roller blade wheel doesn’t transfer any evidence of hitting a bump when I roll onto it from the bare floor. We couldn’t expect a nicer mat. 5 stars for a mat that is literally ready for use as soon as you take it out of the box. Read more
