Brown girl friendly! Finally!
Lip gloss with SPF 35 and color that actually shows up on my lips and looks pretty on my skin tone ! I’m so happy with these lip shines! I had been eyeing them for some time and finally went for it once they went on sale! The texture feels great, like a normal lip gloss and not sticky. I wouldn’t consider this to feel drying, it has a nice slip. But I do use Laneige lip mask overnight, in the morning, apply a light layer of Bioderma lip balm before using this. So this keeps my lips hydrated. While the lip shines don’t last forever, I find they stay on pretty well for me as long as I am not eating. And I do reapply throughout the day cause it’s the sunscreen law. I haven’t noticed a flavor or taste but I don’t usually lick my lips when I have gloss on. The colors I have are just beautiful! They’re not completely sheer, they have some pigment, maybe medium coverage. And you can apply more to build the color a bit. I got the flowing colors: Coral (reminds me of a darker version of MAC Love Nectar lipglass🤩 which is discontinued but IYKYK🥰 anyway Coral is a beautiful soft terracotta shade, soft bronzey coral, not bright) this has a slight pink iridescence like Love Nectar, that’s hard to capture in a photo. Like a subtle pink sheen, no shimmer or glitter. Rose (pinky mauve nude, my lips but better shade) I think this looks prettier on the lips than in the tube. Perfect for everyday. This shade is probably the most wearable for the largest range of skin tones. Pink (it’s pink, like pink pink but not too warm or too cool, brighter and more pink than Rose) I love all 3 of these colors and I think Coral and Rose will look best on deeper skin tones. As for Pink, if you love pink, then you need this! But I know that’s not everyone’s vibe. Now, I have searched high and low for swatches or proper photos of these shades against a skin tone like mine and haven’t seen any. And that also contributed to why I hadn’t purchased any until recently. So, I have added the photos I always wanted to see. I am not wearing any lip liner, just the Lip Shine. I truly hope this helps someone. Because as I write this, there are 641 reviews on here and ZERO photos. This is insane to me! But don’t judge my photos too hard; my eyebrows are in a grow-out phase. Anyway, you’ll see swatches of the CS color balms too. I think the shades I have, pair beautifully with the lip shines. Sometimes I even layer the lip shine over the color balm on my lips to boost staying power and protection. Overall, these are great but they’re a little pricey at full price. But there aren’t many lip SPF35 options with actual pigment (that shows up on me) on the market. And these have a physical filter, zinc, and it’s PA++++; AND these do NOT look ashy! But I still think $42 is pretty steep. So, if you can get it on sale, don’t hesitate. But don’t buy too many at once, they expire 12 months after you open them. So you might want to write it on the container or something. I used my label maker for this. *I hope Colorescience adds darker shades to the line up. I’d love to see red, burgundy, and brown shades.
