The high quality one expects from Columbia is present with this beanie. Really warm, perfect weight, and high quality stitching make this an awesome cold weather hat. Whether hitting the slopes or shoveling the driveway this hat has kept my head warm. The hat fits well, a bit on the small side for my noggin but that means it's likely big enough for most anyone else. Style is nice too, as the blue really pops and looks nice. The classic pouf ball at the top creates a timeless look that matches the comfort. I find hats like this to always be a little pricy, but considering the quality I think it was justified. Read more

Fits, looks, and feels great. I have a size 7.5 head and as delivered, the hat felt comfortable to wear and covered all but the extreme bottoms of my earlobes without stretching the hat. The ball on top is smaller than I expected and tends to provide a blended decoration vs a big pom-pom look like other similar hats and I liked the overall look. Yes it is free advertising for Columbia but I found the letters were blocky enough to appear to be more of a pattern than a billboard. The inside of the hat is partially lined with a gold-colored heat retaining layer. I have not had a chance to wear this in the winter (currently August) so not sure how effective it is compared to a standard hat. A big plus for me is that the brim lays folded up naturally and is not sewn in place. This allows you to easily roll the brim down for extra coverage - on the ears or back of the neck for instance. I do have other hats with this feature but they all tend to unroll too easily. Not sure why - maybe the brim fabric on this one is thinner than the rest of the hat - but it stays in place either unrolled or folded up. A minor negative is the tag on the inside - this will eventually itch. Would prefer if they could simply print the tag info on the item. Minor as I quickly cut the tag off. Another minor (?) issue is that the tag (that I cut off) says "hand wash cold, do not bleach, dry flat, do not wring or twist, reshape. Do not iron, dry cleanable." I do not hand wash cold anything - too lazy. If I do wash this hat it is going in the wash with all the rest. Then into the dryer. And no I am not going to iron or send this to the dry cleaners so no worries there. But will be interesting to see how this holds up under standard washing. Recommended. Read more

I absolutely love Columbia products, and this hat is no exception. It has everything you could possibly want in a beanie. A thermal reflective lining. A thick knit outside with a stretchable fleece lined headband that wraps around your head feeling very soft and warm on the ears and forehead. And topped off with a classic pom pom. I got the camel brown which is a much lighter brown than the pictures in the description, but I'm okay with it. Best part is it's all 100% recycled materials for earth friendliness. I am forever losing hats so always pick up a few per season. This is a great addition--true to the Columbia brand, it's well made, super warm, soft, and comfortable. It fits like most one-size hats. The weave feels a little loose so it'll stretch as needed without feeling too tight. Stitching looks good and should hold up. What's unique about this product is the inner lining on the upper half of the hat.. it almost looks like a thin foil lining which I'm assuming is what'a making it super warm. This is not the hat you're going to want on a cool 30 degree day. But if it's single digits ou there or you're shoveling snow during a good storm--it's exactly what you wish you had. Fits well (though I have a smaller head than many adults- especially my husband)-and is well made! This does have the Columbia patent in the gold reflection dots inside (they switched to gold from silver a couple years ago- so it is real Columbia not a knock off)!
