I am very glad I bought these boots. My feet are chronically cold with Raynaud’s. The Omni-Heat is a plus. I wear alpaca socks with these boots. My feet are almost too warm. I notice my feet are a little sticky after wear but I’ve worn the boots most of the day. I like how supportive they are. I’ve got a more narrow foot but the boots do seem more relaxed after a week’s worth of wear. The soles are impressive. This is my 2nd pair of Columbia boots this winter. It’s great to have a size 12 women’s boot that is functional but also nice looking. Read more

2025-09-11. Women's Burnsider Omni-Heat Infinity Hiking Boot by Columbia. Size: 5 Color: Light Brown/Deep Madeira Cut: High Columbia is well known for their outdoor gear, and these Burnsider hiking boots are no exception. Omni-Tech® is Columbia's proprietary technology of the pioneer Gore-Tex®, the windproof, waterproof, and breathable coating. Now you may be thinking, how can it be both waterproof and breathable? Sounds contrary right? Well it's not. The knit is tight enough to prevent a water molecule from passing through, but not tight enough that a gas like air or evaporation (steam) can't pass. Columbia has taken this premise further an incorporated an insulation element. The premise is that it reuses the body heat you produce my reflecting it and retaining it. Omni-Tech® is used in both garments and footwear by Columbia and personally, I found that it's pretty effective. Of course the entire premise is that you will produce body heat, Omni-Tech® will NOT PRODUCE the heat for you. And if you're concerned about you feet getting too hot, don't, when moisture evaporates, it'll dissipate and not be retained. These Burnsider boots are high-cut meaning they come up about one inch above the top your ankles for extra support. As with most designs of high-cut boots, there are hooks for the laces. This design allow you to easily not lace them up completely when the extra support is not needed. One great feature that Columbia incorporates to almost all their boots and high top hikers is the gusseted tongue. I absolutely love this feature and always ensure that it there when selecting a boot. A gusseted tongue is the tongue of the boot being sewn up to the ankle area. This is super handy for keeping your feet (and socks) dry during the winter or in the rain. Another great feature of Columbia boots and hikers in general is that their tops are waterproof. This means that the soles are well sealed and stepping in shallow puddles will not result in water seeping through the threaded seams and soaking your socks and feet. Of course, if you sink your feet beyond the gusseted tongue, water will seep in through the top of the boot. My only notable is that the color seems to be darker than those pictured in the listing I ordered the light brown, but it's much darker in reality (see pics.) Not the end of the world, and they're still a great pair of boots for hiking and the upcoming winter! Read more

These are an ideal boot for cooler/wintry weather. These boots feature an EVA midsole with rubberized tread on the bottom. The upper is a blend of synthetic and leather materials with a seamless tongue for waterproofing. The heel cup has anti chaffing pads and the inner is lined with reflective material for warmth. While trail runners have largely taken over the hiking scene, there is still a place for boots. These boots are versatile enough be worn into town for a shopping trip, yet rugged enough for back country hiking. These women's size 12 fit true to size. I was concerned on width because I normally get wide if available, but these still offer ample room. After doing a 10 mile hike this past weekend with these boots I can say they are probably not ideal for anything above 65 degrees or your feet may get too warm. These would be ideal boots for wintry mix conditions, as the waterproofing will keep your feet dry and thermal lining keep them warm. The back heel has loops if you wish to attach hiking gators over the ankles. The tread had ample grip on rock and roots with minimal slippage. As with most Columbia wear, the quality is excellent and value is fair. Overall if you're in the market for a cool weather boot these are a compelling offer. Read more

These boots will be great for the colder weather. I have only worn them a couple of times due to the fact my feet get hot easily and it's still in the 70's and 80's where I live (we're finally in the 40's over night). Fits true to size, I wear an 8-1/2 to a 9 and ordered the 9 because I like room and wide width wasn't an option. Have no issues at all. They're very comfortable and definitely well made. They are pricy, however, you get what you pay for with these boots and I expect they'll last for years. Read more

I'm typically a size 10.5W depending on if a half size is available. I went with a 10W and while my toes are right at the limit as far as the toe box goes, I can wear these! They are perfect for living in the PNW. My typical tennis shoes become ruined pretty fast. The threads are great to keep from slipping on the wet mossy grounds that start to really pop up in the fall season. The laces are hold tightly and if done right I experience no slack or discomfort. Pros: Has what my husband calls ‘speed laces’. Instead of holes, Color is a touch darker than I expected and I was glad of that. Good sized pull strap for finger at the heel of the shoe. Also has two other loops. Really nice sturdy tread. Cons: Fits a touch smaller than I would have preferred. Technically they fit, but with socks on they are a little snugger than I would have liked. Comments: For sure the boots feel like there will be a wearing em in phase. Read more
