These are very nice socks to wear in the cold wintertime. Rather thick (as needed to keep my feet warm in winter temps 10 - 40 degrees F), but soft and not 'itchy' at all on my feet. I'm always wary of buying socks without seeing them first, but these looked so nice (and cute) that I decided to take a chance. I am so glad I did! They are wonderful - cushy, warm, soft. I purchased these socks for snowshoeing in Taos. Despite not being 100% wool (mostly acrylic and 27% wool) they were quite warm and comfortable. The negative (reason for 4 of 5 stars) is that they are slightly large (but less than other brands) for my size 6M feet, though they seemed to settle without bunching. They washed well (cold water and hang to dry) without shrinkage. Columbia continues to impress with a quality product at a reasonable price. Read more
