Difficult for older people to use... plus, initial surge of water splashes everywhere

I purchased these for my aged father, who lives in a small ADU beside our home, because he often forgot to turn off the water in the bathroom basin. But they are VERY difficult for him to press down hard enough to get past the starting point, and when they first depressed, the blast of water from the faucet surges out and splashes out over the rim of the sink. If it were possible to replace the sink basin, I would, but that is not an option. I have adjusted the water pressure going into his place, but it still surges terribly when first depressed. Also, as I said, they are very stiff and hard to press down for an 86-year-old man. I would not buy these again for this purpose. Read more
