The media could not be loaded. Before this, I had never tried a stand alone air fryer (I’ve used my toaster oven’s air fryer setting with a slide in and slide out basket). Must say, I’m impressed. My assigned Christmas meal contribution was brussel sprouts – perfect time to test this out. This compact air fryer did not disappoint. Cooked them according to an air fryer recipe I found on line and they turned out great. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside (some were crispier than others especially in my larger, second batch). I found it easy to open half-way through cooking, toss the brussel sprouts around and put the basket back in. It was even easier to clean it once they were cooked. I will note that the frying tray is not fixed. When I put the brussel sprouts in the tin pan, naturally I turned the basket upside down. When I did this, the frying tray came out with them. It was hot to the touch but obviously was easy to get it off the brussel sprouts. The video shows how quiet it is. Capacity is deceiving (seems smaller than it is). My first batch I did 2 cups thinking it would fill it up, but it still had lots of room so the second batch I cooked 4 cups and that filled it up. Something to note is that the highest temperature setting is 395 degrees and the longest time setting is 30 minutes. Something to keep in mind depending on what you want to use the air fryer for. I appreciate the size as it doesn’t take up a lot of space so I can keep it in a convenient space in my cabinets; it's also minimal and attractive enough to keep on a countertop. For a family of 1 or 2, this air fryer is a good size. We have only cooked frozen waffle fries and similar products in our so far, but they cooked well without having to start the whole oven. A manual is included that gives some guidance as to cooking temperatures and durations, which is nice. We did have to experiment with cooking with it to make the fries the amount of firm/crunchy we like. The inside has a non-stick coating, making cleanup easy, which is a huge plus. This is perfect for a one person meal especially if you are doing portion control. If you are planning to cook for more than one, this is not it. I tried baking eggs in it - like fresh eggs that get cooked at 200F for 30 minutes - and it came out well. It is a decent unit that you can probably use in your studio apartment for one person. This is the perfect-sized air fryer for a single-person household, or even some appetizers for a small get-together. It stores well because of its size, is durable, and washes easily. I love that the basket can be put in the dishwasher, but ultimately, it is easiest to just hand-wash. It is non-stick, which means no spraying oil or anything in the basket! It is super easy to use, just turn the dial and go! I absolutely love the quality, size, and look of it on our counters overall.
