OK, I'll own it - growing up WAY back in the 70's it was not unusual to see people wearing fuzzy rabbit fur hats in the colder weather. I had one and LOVED it for style and for warmth, but as time has a way of doing, with time one sees the error of using real fur for such products. I haven't owned a similar hat in years, mostly because the synthetic ones tend to suck pretty badly and aren't very warm. This hat is the exception. I will say that as much as I am loathe to admit it, I have a pretty massive head. I have trouble finding hats that fit well, so I tend not to wear them at all. This one fit well - just snug enough to stay put, and I expect it would be comfortable for a pretty wide range of head circumferences. Trying it on for the first time, I was surprised at how warm it was even before activating the built-in heater. Indoors at normal room temperatures you won't have it on very long without sweating. I stepped outside (we're having unseasonably cold weather) and it was great - it cut the wind off my ears and face nicely. I turned on the heater and could tell within a minute or so that it was working - a gentle heat permeated the entire hat, particularly over my ears. This would be a fantastic hat for hunting or other outdoor activities in colder weather. The light bears mentioning - I didn't fully read the manual and ended up activating the light while I was looking directly into it. WOW this thing is bright - I was seeing spots for a couple of minutes afterwards. It's really a great addition to the hat, especially for anyone that is out in the cold during the darker times of year. This is the best hat everrrr. The lining feels super silky and soft. The battery pack is mildly bulky and pulls the hat slightly to one side when it's not snapped together but I don't mind. The battery charges fast and seems to last a long time. The heating element works well and is definitely positioned more around the tops of the ears. Style is more modern and looks great. I love wearing this and can't wait to use it camping. Read more

Overall its a decent hat does some things well and others not so well at a high price point. Is the warm with its fake fur liner yes. Does it heat up, not so much. The fake fur liner seems to get in the way of the heating coil so you feal a little heat at top end setting but otherwise the liner stops the heat transfer dead in its tracks resulting in a " why did they even bother with a heater coil when the liner does the job and hat could have had a much lower price point. The led light is bright. very bright so kudos to the hat maker hear. So in the end, warm hat, bright light, ineffective heating elements for an overpriced but warm headlight...enuff said! Read more

This hat is way better than I expected! I was expecting for it to just be okay, but it's great. It really does heat up. The hat without the heat on is warm & cozy, but the heat makes it even better! It fits nicely without being too tight. It has 3 heat settings and very easy to operate. It has a removable bright headlamp and removable nose/mouth cover.
