Please note that unlike the default small wrist rest that comes with a standard "RollerMouse Red" unit, this "ArmSupport Red" DOESN'T snap into place. The way it works is that the ArmSupport Red has two screw holes on the bottom. It also comes with two screws that can be screwed in WITHOUT tools. That is because there is a kind of plastic "knob" that you keep twisting until it is good to go. As for what I was about to say, you push the ArmSupport Red as close to the desk as you can and then there are two metal supports that you screw in with the aforementioned knob* screws. You need to make sure the RollerMouse Red itself is underneath the ArmSupport before you screw it in. Of course, make sure it doesn't sit on top of the buttons, make sure it is through the fat "V" shaped cutout that is shaped similarly to the button profile of the RollerMouse Red itself. Once it is screwed in; once it is set up properly, it is secure enough that the RollerMouse Red and the ArmSupport doesn't move anywhere. It took me about 5 minutes to get it set up. It came in a cardboard box with a Lego esk. type of instructions on the back of the box. I will add photos as soon as I can of how mine is set up along with the diagram that the box had printed on it. As for the actual strengths and weaknesses of this product: Strengths: + It is very large but it is designed in a way that arms of nearly all sizes can make use of it + The material that your arms rest on is very comfortable! Not to stiff but it has a little bit of give + When it is properly set up, it is very secure! Which is impressive given that it basically just clamps on to the desk instead of straight up screwing it into the desk like other kinds of arm support products. Which means if the user messes up, you can try again until you screw everything in just right + All of the materials in general are very high quality! Don't worry about those metal screw clamps, they have a rounded off material attached to the business end of the clamps so it doesn't mess up the desk! + It makes it very easy to default to a "home row" typing position on the keyboard so it does the job as a kind of ergonomic product in the sense that it kind of "forces" you to take a ideal arm position Things to keep in mind: = It doesn't "click" or "snap" onto the RollerMouse Red. It simply clamps to the desk and is held in place by that same action. There is a rubber kind of material that prevents the RollerMouse Red from getting scuffed up when it is firmly between the desk and the ArmSupport Red = This one is on me but learn from other's mistakes: it is deceptively wide and equally as deceptively heavy. If your chair (if you're even using one) has armrests, please set them low enough so that it doesn't get in the way of the Arm Support Red. You won't need those armrests once this is properly installed. = No it isn't permanent. If you ever change desks, you can simply unscrew the two knob* screws on the bottom and move everything to the new desk no problem! Like wise, if you mess up the first time, you can simply unscrew and try again. There's a kind of triangle stair like shape on the bottom metal support beams. Rest that triangle stair shape, AGAINST the edge of your desk. Once that is done, then you can screw it in. Cons: - While the price means you really do get high quality materials in the process, it is still expensive. Though to be fair, other (good) arm supports tend to be in the $200-$300. My arm rest had a couple of broken plastic knobs broken but it wasn’t the end of the world as it is easily replaceable by wrapping some masking tape on the ends that grips the table. I wrote to customer service about the small glitch in the small bits that were cracked in delivery and they responded straight away to try and offer a replacement plastic end bits and that if they were not able to source it that they would give me a discount. Due to delivery times etc I decided I could live with it and I was offered a discount. But in all fairness, I have been suffering from RSI for 15 years, I have been using the roller mouse maybe 12 years and I was suffering so terribly in the last 2 years with extra pains. This arm support mechanism is a change maker and I am so so so SO happy I bought this. I go to physio less often and I cannot tell you how much happiness this has brought me. I complain less, I even remark to my boss about how much happier this has made me and I don’t want to chew my arm off anymore. I highly recommend this and the superb customer service I had.
