We are long time Coolaroo clientele. This new square design is a bit lower profile than the standard Coolaroo Elevated dog bed. Unlike some posts, the lower profile has not posed an issue for my ~85-90 lb GSD. I can’t speak to the Advanced Cooling claims as temps are hovering between the mid 20’s to 60’s! So far — so good! We’ve tried a few elevated dog beds over the years, and this Coolaroo Pro is one of the better ones we’ve owned. Assembly was easy enough, and once it’s put together, the bed is sturdy and well made. It’s definitely more expensive than some other options, but the quality backs that up. We’ve stuck with Coolaroo after seeing how well their beds hold up even against our corgi’s enthusiastic digging (included another picture of our other Coolaroo bed). The mesh may look light, but it’s tougher than it seems. As long as you choose the right size based on your dog’s weight, it feels supportive and durable. We also prefer this material over the more plasticky ones from other brands because of its breathability. The detachable bolster pillow is a nice and adds comfort without getting in the way. We also like that this bed is easy to clean and works well both indoors and outdoors but do note this is not packable. One thing to be aware of: the cleaner, more streamlined design means there are more parts to assemble compared to simpler elevated beds. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s worth mentioning. Indoors, I prefer placing it on carpet, and I’ll likely add rubber non-slip feet for extra stability. This is a solid, well-designed elevated dog bed that feels built to last. If you’re willing to spend a little more for durability and versatility, this is a great option. Read more

I own and operate a dog boarding kennel, so I have put together many, MANY dog cots. I mostly have the original Coolaroo cots, a couple of Kuranda and several no-name ones. While Coolaroo is my standard go-to due to price, they can be a pain to assemble. I have somewhat perfected my assembly procedure through the years but I was very excited to see that they are trying a new construction design with easier assembly. The corner leg assemblies slide onto the crossbars and the 4th has a slide top that makes it easier to get that 4th leg in with a tight fabric. It was definitely a lot easier and faster to assemble than a standard Coolaroo, one of which I assembled immediately after this one and it took about 3 times as long with a higher degree of aggravation. In comparison, I like that the Pro sits square to the wall so I don't have to worry about toys falling in the gap between wall and cot. This medium Pro is lower than the new large Standard Coolaroo which will be good for older and tiny dogs. The corner gaps, where dogs love to chew, are about the same between the two. My main concern is that the top part of the corners is plastic. I fear that this will be quickly chewed. And once it is chewed it might be harder to disassemble and reassemble with new fabric, especially the piece with the slide top. On that note, there is no replacement fabric for the Pro currently available on Amazon. The price of the Pro cot is about twice that of the regular cot. That coupled with the plastic top part means that I will be sticking with the standard cots for now. Still, I am tentatively giving this 5 stars as it will be much easier for most people to assemble and will not get the abuse that my kennel cots get. One I have used it for a while and can see how it holds up I will revisit my rating. Read more
