I wish I had bought this sooner. It seemed pretty flat when I first opened it, but it suggested that I either shake it out for three minutes or put it in the dryer. I shook it out for maybe about a minute total and it puffed up into a nice fluff. This feels so great to sleep on. It also did not make me feel hot. I bought it to replace a foam mattress pad that I had had for a while but was tearing up. I definitely think this is a lot better. My mattress is pillow top, so it is definitely thicker than the average mattress, but I had no trouble putting it on as it was bigger sized.
