Great sunscreen

Linda KerxtonAugust 5, 2025

I bought this because I am allergic to regular sunscreen and it was highly rated by a consumer group. It's easy to use and doesn't make me look pale. Provides good protection and was a good price. Read more

The only thing standing between my pale kids and spontaneous combustion

FlashJuly 30, 2025

As the mother of two extremely blonde, borderline translucent children, sunscreen isn’t optional — it’s survival. If I skip it, they basically start sizzling like tiny vampires caught in a sunbeam. Enter: Coppertone, my holy grail. This stuff is like SPF armor for my little glow-in-the-dark gremlins. I lather it on like I’m frosting cupcakes, and boom — no burns, no whining, no lobster children. It goes on smooth, doesn’t smell like a chemical factory, and actually stays on through beach chaos, sprinkler fights, and snack breaks that somehow involve rolling in sand. Coppertone, thank you for letting my kids enjoy the sun without turning into solar-powered tantrum machines. You’ve saved our summers — and probably our future dermatology bills. P.S. If you ever make a 1000 SPF version for redheads, I’d like to be on the pre-order list. Read more

Good mineral sunscreen

Jason BeasleyAugust 26, 2024

Good consistency for a mineral sunscreen; those only familiar with chemical sunscreens might be annoyed by the thickness and difficulty with getting it to rub in but compared to other mineral sunscreens we've used this really isn't bad. Good price and effective. Would recommend to anyone swimming in oceans where reef toxicity by chemical sunscreens is a concern. Read more

Ok, not great

AidanJune 29, 2024

I bought this because I wanted a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen that wouldn't cost a small fortune per ounce. I checked the reviews and while this didn't seem perfect, it did seem like the best I would find in my price range. I've used it a few times now and as expected it's not bad but not great. Pros: -Water resistant. You'll need soap and a washcloth to get this off. -Long-lasting. Spent 4+ hours at the fair and didn't get burned. -Stayed in place. Didn't have any issues of it rubbing off on my clothes after applying. Cons: -It can be hard to apply/rub in. -Once applied, it feels sticky. This may be because it's impossible to completely rub it in. -It leaves a noticeable white cast. I'm already very pale so I didn't think it would be so noticeable on my skin, but after applying to my face I looked like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family. Unfortunately, this is going to be unavoidable with all mineral sunscreens because of the zinc oxide. The smell also isn't great. It's not a huge deal for me, but I can see it bothering someone who is sensitive to scents. Overall, this is an effective and affordable mineral sunscreen. It might not be the most comfortable to wear if you need something every day (again, it feels kind of sticky after applied), but it will work fine for a day out at the beach with the family or something. Good value

JenniferMay 21, 2025

Is it luxury? Probably not. I don’t need luxury though. I am medically sunlight sensitive due to Lupus and the comparable sunscreens are crazy expensive for tiny amounts. The value is amazing and the quality seems comparable to everything else I have tried. I feel there’s less skin tint to the white sunscreen color so that’s kind of nice. Product overall is nice due to sensitivities and the price of it. This is my choice for someone who wears a lot of sunscreen, almost every day. Read more

It’s thick

AislynnMay 9, 2025

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good sunscreen. It does the job. But it is THICK. And it leaves a white film in your skin. So if you’re wearing anything black, it will rub off on it and leave a mark. But other than that it lasts a really long time and it’s sweat/water proof. Read more

It’s mineral sunscreen

AR2LAForesterJune 10, 2024

I bought this because it was mineral based sunscreen and free of the chemicals in other products. I can say that it lasts as long as advertised after getting wet. I re-applied after about two hours and I had a very light tan after 4 hours in the sun paddleboarding, so it works. After initial application it does not leave a heavy white sheen like some mineral sunscreens (more to come on that). It is a cream and does require some rubbing in, especially if you have hair in the application areas. Overall it does what it’s supposed to do. Now the bad: this stuff is super hard to remove and if you’re sweating or wet when you re-apply it, it turns into a sticky white slury that gets all over everything and you will have the ghost skin color. It says that it does not have a scent, but it does smell like wet clay, it’s not noxious, but you can smell it. It took about 3 showers with a good exfoliating loofah to really feel like it was completely off my skin, so it definitely covers you and does not run off easily. Will I use it, absolutely, but is it better than others on the market, that’s debatable…. Read more

Five big stars!

SarahJuly 12, 2025

As a kidney transplant patient, it is imperative that I wear sunblock whenever I'm outdoors, because of my strong predisposition to sun damage and skin cancer. This is because my immune system is suppressed by the medications. I was using another well-known brand that starts with the initials BB, for years. Not only did I get burned out on all the chemicals. I was putting into my body through my skin, but I also got burned out on how it wasn't quite that effective at protecting me from the Sun. I tried this more natural Coppertone sunscreen as an alternative, and I don't regret it one bit. First off, I really like the texture of the sunscreen. It's not too thick, and it's not too thin. It spreads on easily and absorbs after a few minutes. But most of all, it is superior to the other mainstream brand I was using, at protecting me from Sun damage and sunspots that normally would appear, regardless of what sunblock product I was wearing. I feel like this is shielding me much better. Read more
