The description of this backpack says it’s for laptops. It has a sleeve in the back for a laptop to sit, and many different pockets. The material is a soft corduroy as described, and the top opens like a coin purse (or cigarette purse) which makes it very easy to put stacks of things like a laptop or tablet and books or notepads. On the back under the shoulder straps there is also a strap that goes across for you to hook onto a luggage handle, which also makes it convenient for a carry-on bag. I really like this backpack, but it has one big drawback for me. It is lined with cooler insulation material. It feels like a cooler, is noisy and feels bulky because of the inside material. It is still a nice and useful bag, but they should have upgraded to some thinner material that is typical for the inside of a backpack. Read more

This is one of the nicest “Satchel” backpacks that I have owned. Unlike so many others, this opens up at the top with a metal frame, similar to many purses. However, it closes with a double zipper that can meet at the top. Once you open it, there is a nice, deep area to put in any number of items. Inside, there are two internal can or bottle holders on each side, along with a number of pockets. These pockets are matched on the outside on both sides to hold additional bottles, thermal coffee cups or other liquid items. I actually use them to put in additional items that I want quick access to like keys, lip gloss, additional travel chargers, etc. Even though you can put this on like a backpack, you can carry it like a satchel purse. I love that that there is the soft corduroy fabric on the outside, yet there is a nylon, water resistant liner throughout the satchel. Also, I really like all the zippered pockets on the front and the back as well as the pocket on the front with the two cute, stylish magnetic snaps that look like belt clasps. Because this satchel style backpack is built for travel, it also has the strap on the backside that allows you to attach it to luggage handles securely while traversing through airport or train stations. In my case, I would be dropping my purse or purses into the deep satchel pocket, and then keeping just the important documents or cards super safe and handy in the zippered pockets. I also like that it has a padded area at the inner back that is made for safe travel for iPads, small laptops, and Kindles. Yet it is also large enough to handle an additional small travel keyboard and accessories. I am strongly considering purchasing an additional one just like it with a different pattern since this is so cute and different for use in just hauling items from place to place, and for use when shopping. Because of the total cuteness factor, the thoughtful design and flexibility of this bag, and the quality workmanship, I am giving this back 5 stars. This is an absolutely adorable backpack with soft corduroy that feels as good as it looks with its check pattern in a color of your choice. I really like this go-with-everything beige. There are liners inside all the interiors giving extra protection. So many pockets including a zippered pocket in the back and side pockets for bottles or perhaps shoes. Plenty of space for all your electronics, or to use as a gym or overnight bag. The drawbacks are as far as electronic devices go, in my opinion there's not enough padding to really protect a laptop if it's dropped, and these materials are not waterproof or water resistant. Be that as it may, this is certainly a sharp looking backpack, and would make a great hit as a gift for any student who has to drag books around. And you can probably use it to play checkers! We have a lot of activities on the weekends and I have been looking for a stylish and functional bag to take around with us to sporting events and playdates. This one is perfect! The main compartment is large enough to fit all sorts of activities and toys for my younger 2 kids, including a magnetic tile set and their drawing clipboards, plus 3 sets of headphones (we all hate the sound of the buzzers when we go to m y older son’s basketball games). In the front pouch I can stash snacks and markers, and the size pockets easily hold a coffee flask and water bottle. I love the soft corduroy material and the subtle but stylish checkered print. The best part: the top of the bag zippers open in a squared shape, unlike the round top of a regular backpack, so you can fit more and taller things inside. The zipper is sturdy and smooth. The stitching is sturdy and well done. And, it has 2 small top carry straps so you can carry or grab it from the top or from the regular backpack straps as desired. I love this for my purpose but I could see a student really enjoying this for school as well! Read more
