I have carried this bag with a considerable amount of weight and it is great. It holds a good amount of items and if left un snapped, it holds even more. I thought that there was a snap but ot was because each snap set is individual. If a snap won't connect be sure that you are snapping the correct ones together. I measured the top and bottom due to the comments stating the difference in size. Both the rop and bottom are 13" wide when laying flat. As the top is opened the length naturally decreases. The middle of the center snap is 6.5 inches to each side edge and the side snaps are 2 inches to the edge. The bag is vibrant, soft and the pattern is adorable. I would buy it again. The pattern is vibrant as well. They did a great job woth the color. Although I have only had the bag for less then a week, I have used it considerably including with the weight being so much it was heavy on my shoulder. Just bought my second one! Still in love :) Such a beautiful pattern and soft material; thin enough not to be bulky but seems like good quality. It's also lined, and has 2 interior pockets. Very deep bag, and has 2 nice sized handles. While it doesn't zip closed, there is one main snap in the center with a smaller one on either side. So it closes up nicely. I use mine for current crochet "works in progress" and just ordered a 2nd bag, in a different pattern, to use for multiple projects.
