Leather computer case easily converts to briefcase, backpack.
I ordered this Large Full Grain Leather Briefcase Convertible Backpack as a Christmas gift for my teenage son, who’ll be heading off to college next year. I wanted to find my son a more grown up computer case; he really likes mid century menswear, and wears a coat and tie or suit to school every day. I was looking for a nice leather computer case, and I really liked how this one converts to be carried several ways. It has regular handles, a shoulder strap, and hidden shoulder strap, so this can be carried by hand, over the shoulder, or on the back. This computer case is made from 2 mm thick real leather; when we received it, it had that great leather scent. The case we received is a deep, rich brown; the zippers and hardware are a bronze tone. The case has simple lines and looks great with a suit and tie; you can also pull out the hidden straps, convert it to a backpack, and it looks great with jeans and a tee. This is made to carry a 17” laptop; my son’s computer fit nicely. The case we received measures about 17 1/2” wide x 12 12” tall; expanded, it’s about 5 1/4” deep. A lot of thought was put into function; the large main compartment has a padded slot for the computer and a smaller screen, as well as slots to safely hold ID, band cards, etc. The other large section has a large zippered pocket to stow valuables, and several smaller pockets, as well as plenty of room for books, headphones, etc. This is large enough that you could use it as a weekender, with room for your electronics plus two or three changes of clothing, but it’s small enough to use as a carry on. It’s versatile and functional; it can be a computer case, a briefcase, a backpack, a weekender, or carry one. The leather is quite durable; it’s weather resistant, and stands up well to scratches. The leather is strong and fairly supple; it’ll break in more with time, and over the years, any bumps or dings will add to its character. This should last for years, if properly cared for. This came with a dust bag; it’s a nice added bonus for storage. I have purses that came with dust bags; I hadn’t seen one for a briefcase before. It was a little too small to hold the case horizontally, but will hold the case vertically, standing on end. At the current price ($119.99) I think this case offers a lot of value; it’s sturdy and well made from real leather, and has a vintage, old school vibe that my teenage loves. The mesh panel and backpack straps give it a modern touch, but used like a shoulder bag, this could be from any time in the last century or this one. My son loves that midcentury menswear vibe; he really liked the style of this simple bag and the classic lines. I’ve seen other leather computer cases sell for far more; this is good quality leather, and the three convertible carrying styles is an extra bonus. My son is getting really excited about heading out to college; we gave him this case and a pair of good boots along with our hopes that he enjoys seeing the world and has some grand adventures. This case can go anywhere with him; it’s designed to travel. A really nice boutique style leather case at a much friendlier price point. Read more
