It has never fully died on us, and we have had no reliability issues. Durability has also been solid. I cannot speak to water resistance, but that has not been a concern since she would not be wearing it around water anyway. What stands out most is how well the features are chosen for its intended age range. There is no GPS, calling, or internet access, and that is a positive. For the intended age group, those features are unnecessary and could introduce safety concerns. Instead, the watch focuses on what actually engages young kids. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could load MP3 files onto it, which my daughter loves since she already has favorite songs. She also enjoys other features such as the flashlight and the preinstalled games and stories, which adds variety without overwhelming her. If I had to pay for this watch, I would not hesitate. Where do I begin with this watch?! It comes in a cute little cardboard box with a plastic form-fitted insert. In it you'll find a small metal tool, instructions, watch, protective rubber cover, fabric band, rubber band, and screen protector. The build and material quality on initial impression is excellent, especially at this price point. The first thing I did was install the screen protector. It is akin to the ones you'd use to protect your phone screens. It is cut perfectly to the glass screen so make sure your screen is dust and fingerprint free before application. After application, I installed the rubber band as I feel it would be more comfortable and easier to wash. Then I charged it for at least two (2) hours as stated in the instructions. After charging, it powered right up. It was easy to navigate and figure out how swipes work, theme changes work, etc. We noticed immediately how many neat home screens you have. You can get analog watch appearances to more modern appearances with digital times, date, etc. My son loved the included games and really got hooked onto the basketball shooting game! I'm having him learn how to read a regular analog wall clock so I have left it on an analog home clock screen for him. This is a fully functional watch that will aid your child in their growth and assist their daily needs. Since there are so many features, the most beneficial are the flashlight, camera, stopwatch/timer functions, alarm, and calculator. Also the pedometer is great. After getting this watch, my son began to keep track of how many steps he takes in a day. I uploaded several pictures but my camera phone doesn't do the screen quality and color rendition any justice. The colors are vibrant and pixels are quite small as well. It is water resistant and the rubber boot around the watch case will help it last through all the journeys your child will have with it.
