This is my second time ordering these and that alone should tell you something. I have used the first set constantly for a couple of years for dishes counters and general cleanup and they are still doing their job. They feel like a towel but not a plush fluffy one. If you have ever had an old towel that still feels slightly scratchy no matter how much fabric softener you use that is very similar to the texture here even when brand new. They are just not very pretty anymore which is exactly why I reordered. If you are looking for soft fluffy decorative dishcloths these probably are not it. But if you want dishcloths that actually work these are really good ones especially for the price. Why I keep rebuying them Material and feel They feel like a towel but the material is dense and tightly woven which makes a big difference. I have used other densely woven towels before that held up well but had no fluff at all and felt stiff and flat. These have that same durability but with enough fluff to actually absorb water and feel good in your hand. It really is a great combination. That dense weave is why they have held up so well over time and why none of mine have holes or tears even after years of heavy use. The texture is ideal for dishes because they absorb water and clean effectively without smearing water around like some microfiber towels do. Absorbency and wringing They absorb water well but because they are not thick or overly fluffy they wring out easily and do not hold onto tons of excess water. When I wipe down counters I am not left with puddles everywhere which I really appreciate. Durability and washing They kept their shape after the first wash and did not shrink which is something I cannot say about cheaper packs I have bought elsewhere. Even after years of use they still hold their original shape which is part of why they have lasted so long. Drying and staining I would not call these quick dry cloths. They may dry a bit faster simply because they are thinner but they do stay damp longer than some materials. They also stain over time if you use them daily especially in lighter colors. I have tried bleaching mine but once they are heavily used they never look brand new again. At that point I would rather just replace them since they are inexpensive. If staining bothers you darker colors are probably the better choice. Bottom line These are dependable hardworking dishcloths. They are not fancy but they are durable practical and do exactly what you want them to do. I reordered them after years of use and that is about the strongest recommendation I can give. Read more
