I live on the beach in Mexico and sunglasses are a necessity. The Coyote BP-7 Readers give me excellent sun protection with great vision and are lightweight and tough; with the added bonus of bifocal readers. If you need readers in a sunglass, and don’t want to compromise on quality or style, you won’t find a better deal. Read more
I think it's time to update my review. I'm up to my 7th pair of these sunglasses. That's right SEVEN pairs. For the price, I haven't found anything better. I've never has a problem with the frames breaking. They wrap around and fit tight to my face, don't allow a lot of light leak and that's important to me. I have 2 pair at any given time, one for work and one for play. I wear them anytime I'm outdoors. When the work pair gets too scratched to see out of, I buy a new pair and the old play pair gets designated for work. (Enjoy a laugh at my old review) I've purchased two pairs of these sunglasses. I lost the first pair in the ocean. They're OK, however the optical quality leaves a lot to be desired. My vision clarity decreases enough when I have them on that it causes me to squint just to read a road sign that is perfectly clear when viewed without them on. I would also point out that they scratch very easily and don't do well in low light situations. Reading my iPhone5 screen is next to impossible. I like the reader feature. It makes life much easier not having to take my sunglasses off every time in order to use my regular reading glasses while outside. Overall, they're an OK product but I'm going to continue shopping around. Read more
The bifocal line is the perfect size. These are great for those of us who don’t need prescription lenses but do use readers’ glasses. When I ride my Trikke, I can see my the data from my sports tracking app on my phone mounted to the handlebars. I can also see everything at every other distance. These are well-made and I get compliments on my “cool sunglasses.” I bought my first pair 4 years ago, when I needed 1.5. Last year, I bought them with strength 2 on the bifocal. Sadly, a very rambunctious kitten got a hold of them and separated one of the lenses from the frame. I ordered a new pair right away and continue to feel that these are the best wraparound bifocal sunglasses available. Unless there’s another “kitten incident,” I will buy my next pair when my age requires a stronger strength. Read more
These meet 3 goals for me: polarized, copper tint, and reading lens. Polarized lenses are by far most effective for my comfort in sunglasses, especially noticeable while driving or around water. Tint is a matter or personal preference. Copper is not color neutral (like grey would be) but because it is amber-ish it lets in less blue light. Note that blue light bends more in a prism, that is, scatters (sunlight is white but the sun is blue) so clay bird shooters wear amber lenses to sharpen contrast of the target. They are a bargain compared to buying prescription polarized bifocals, and they are stylish enough that my teens approve. They have become a fixture in my car. Not too dark to wear on overcast but bright, hazy days. Happy I found them, and you can't beat the ease of shipping and returns through Amazon. Read more
I bought these glasses because I have had and still have Maui Jim's that are readers and besides being expensive they have to be sent back for repair every 6mos...only. So I was looking for a "hearty" pair of polarized sun glasses - since I mountain climb...and one that could take the punishment of +10 days on a mountain in not so nice of conditions. The last pair of these lasted me 4yrs w/on minor scratch....and I'd not be ordering another one if not for the airport valet service sending my car out for services during a business trip only to be returned...gone. I'm happy to buy another pair...great glasses. Read more
Love these sunglasses - being polarized, everything looks super clear - and the magnification was so nice for reading a novel on vacation at the beach. I got two cheaper pairs, that also claimed to be polarized and have the reading glasses. They are OK, but everything is sharper through these glasses, so I think they are worth the extra money. They come in a nice case, so I haven't broken them (and I'm usually kind of hard on sunglasses). They fit perfectly and I could read my phone through the magnifiers easily. LOVE THESE!!! Read more
Lightweight, good wrap-around design with excellent sun coverage from the sides/peripheral view. And they definitely look good, at least on average sized faces. The reader area of the lens at the bottom is of decent quality and is clear. Personally, I would've preferred for it to be about 10% larger on the lens. As it is, these proportions are just right for driving and reading the dashboard or a lower-placed GPS. (Conversely, they're a little less effective when not driving and trying to read anything else like a phone or magazine or a sign - you have to raise your head and swivel your eyes down.) Otherwise, there was a noticeable plastic/rubber smell for about 3-4 weeks after using them, which eventually went away. Mine must have been very recently manufactured! Also, the wrap-around fit is just a little snug, and my hat size is only about a 7 1/2, so my head's not exactly a big melon! They will almost certainly never fall off, probably not even on some of the best roller coaster rides, or bumpiest boat rides, but a slightly looser fit would make them more comfortable the other 99% of the time I'm wearing them. That being said, I've worn them on 8-hour car drives, even having 2 other pairs to switch to, if these got to be too annoying. They never did. I'd buy them again. Read more
