My son outgrew his suitcase and we didn't realize this until a few days before we were due to leave for vacation. Didn't have the money or time to look for a new bag so I went with these compression bags. They worked great, he was able to pack a week's worth of clothes in what amounts to a small carry-on. He is an average sized teenager and we were traveling in winter, a lot of bulky clothes to pack. A few notes: the sliders are a nuisance, you can close them fine with your hands if dexterity is not an issue. Rolling the larger bags was difficult but I found folding them in half and giving them a bear hug worked well. This is not a fast process, you will need to give each bag a few minutes. The bottom flap is where the air comes out so make sure that doesn't get obstructed or creased while pushing the air out. How much air comes out is really up to you and how much pressure you put on the bag to push the air out. They appear to be durable and you should be able to get a couple uses or of them. I have small closets and space is an issue, these will definitely help when switching out seasonal clothes. I am an over packer, these will come in handy for me. I liked the different sizes. Shows on the box and in advertising that you can just roll and press out the air. This isn’t true. Once you seal the bags the air just gets trapped. If you push extremely hard it will pop the seal, but not through the sides. The whole seal just opens up. I found that mostly closing the seal and vacuuming out the top worked best. Rolling with the seal mostly closed also works. The directions in the package are for the vacuum model. The clips are also unnecessary. We found you can close them just as well with your hands. The bags are large. We only really needed the smaller sizes. You could fit 4 sweatshirts in a large or suitcase size. Overall they did work and provide plenty of room to fit and outfit and accessories. Makes it nice to pack for a larger trip with multiple people. Read more

These work extremely well. The pictures show them packed rolled up, but I've found I can get them flat by squeezing a little air out, pull them flat, turn them over, and roll them again. After a few times they get very flat. Bought the 24 pack, and although inexpensive, i've found I prefer and use the small ones most. Very convenient because a separate vacuum isn't necessary. A hard flat surface is needed for pressing out the air, I usually do it on the floor of the hotel room. We use them to get lots of things into carry-ons, no need to check for shorter trips. These are the latest rage for travel, to compress your clothes to fit into a suitcase. It's a fantastic idea and works very well. The suction power was good but you had to work at it - takes a few tries to get it down. TWO of the bags failed during compression (they had a fatal flaw near the seam) so we threw them away, but that did not bother us as there are plenty of bags in different sizes in the box. In fact, we never used all of them, anyway. They are completely re-usable and great if you want to store clothing items on shelves in your closet and not take up more space (and keep them fresh). The downside of this theory of packing is that with larger suitcases you are tempted to pack more, which means, ultimately, more weight. It is easy to go over the standard 50lb weight limit when packing so much. These might be more suitable if you are using a carry on, in which case you will pack more into a smaller space, for sure. Excellent for use when traveling! Used these when I went to Nepal for a month. Was definitely able to take way more than I would have otherwise and it made it easy to organize my clothing. I took a couple extra so I could pack up the clothes/fabrics I purchased. Easy to use in general but I would recommend not trying to compress on a bed or other soft surface. Be sure to leave space at the back for the air to get out. If they are really full and you try to roll, the air wont escape as well and the clothes get bunched up in the back. I think the biggest ones are probably better for blankets or such at home. The medium and smaller ones where the most useful to me. Also keep an extra tab to open/close them separate from the bag in case you lose one or one comes off. Read more
