Crown's is by far the best shave cream I have purchased. I have used foams, gels, soaps, and other shave creams, but this one with a good badger hair shave brush, is well worth the purchase. It works easily into a shave brush, not too much is needed, is not full of glycerin which tends to require lots of rinsing after a shave, and lasts for months. I maybe purchase two tubs per year if even that. Read more

So I'm new to the DE shaving experience. Bought a razor and a bunch of different creams and soaps. So far this is far and above the best cream I've tried. Barclay Crocker, Taconic, Proraso ......... all worked okay but none provided the promised luxurious thick lather advertised. Smells were nice, but lather was thin. This stuff is truly luxurious. Thick, rich and smooth. Nice shave and a pleasant smell. Gonna stay with this one for a while, even though several more are on their way in the mail. Read more

This shaving cream is fantastic and I would definately purchase it again. It is a very think lather and I don't need to use much more than a dab of it to shave. I find it a little thicker than that art of shaving cream that I was previously using though the stickers on the outside of the container make it look a little cheap but from my perspective its what on the inside that counts. I maybe spoiled with cremo. This cream is ok but not very slick. I have to slow down in my swipes or I get razor burn. It does smell nice and is ok with my sensitive skin. If I slow down I get a good shave. If cremo slickness is 5 this is a 1. Thinking about mixing the cremo in with it. Read more

This is the best shaving cream I have ever used. Doesn't lather as good as Castle Forbes but it's slicker and thicker. Every time I use Castle Forbes I still get razor bumps on my neck. I don't with this. Great smell, kinda minty. Can't go wrong with this. I would give it 10 stars if I could. It changed my life. Read more

Has become so outrageously priced I'm switching When I switched from a six blade Gillette cartridge to a Henson single blade safety razor, I started looking for a better shaving cream. Everything was either much too thick and clogged up the single blade or was much too thin and ran off my face in the shower. Crown is the perfect Goldilocks thickness, but the price is just atrocious, and keeps going up. I'm lucky if I get 6 to 8 weeks out of a jar. The smell isn't terrible, but it's not great, when it gets in your mouth. Cooling/burning sensation on your skin is more of a burning for me, but I have sensitive skin. Still looking for a better alternative Read more

This stuff is the bomb. I have tried every shave cream on the planet. This is far and away the best I have ever used. It is very thick. It stays on after you run the blade over your face, enabling a second and third pass without chafing my skin. It is much thicker than other brush shave creams. It lathers up faster in the bowl too. Yes, it costs more than most. In my opinion it's well worth it too. Excellent product. Very well done. Read more

The slickest shave cream I have probably used. It is on par with some tallow based shave soaps. I have tried many types of shaving creams such as TOBS (Taylor of Old Bond Street), Prorasso, Noxema, Palmolive, to name a few. It provided a very comfortable and smooth shave. I ended up buying another. As far as slickness and performance, it is a 10 (scale of 1 to 10). The price is a little steep (over $26 when I purchased). Read more
