As a graphic designer working on both a Mac Mini M4 and MacBook Air M1, I’m constantly juggling large project files, from brand assets and RAW images to video renders. After a week of using the Crucial X10 4TB Portable SSD, I can confidently say it’s an excellent performer. The speed is the first thing you notice. File transfers are incredibly fast, whether I’m moving large Photoshop folders or backing up client projects. Even when connected via USB-C on both Macs, the drive maintains consistent performance with no lag or connection drops. The build quality feels solid yet lightweight, the blue finish gives it a professional yet stylish look that stands out on the desk. It’s compact enough to slip into a laptop sleeve without any bulk, making it perfect for on-the-go work sessions or traveling between client meetings. In just a week, it’s already become a core part of my workflow; fast, reliable, and perfectly suited to the Apple ecosystem. For designers or creative professionals who value both speed and portability, the Crucial X10 is a smart investment. Read more

Great design. Small, easy to work with, good capacity, fast enough. Price was good (when it was on sale ....) . One small thing: has only USB-C connector. Would not work with USB-C to USB adapter. Read more

I initially used this for recording ProRes, but then I realized something. I use premiere pro and after effects a lot which can be pretty hard on computers. My computer has an excellent cpu and gpu, but my internal ssd isn’t the best for this specific use. So I thought why not just install an external ssd and do everything there? It’s got its own SSD controller and is more than capable, and oh lemme tell you WHAT! This makes editing so much faster, it’s like a dream, it’s like having a private road of data flow for editing and editing only and it’s so much faster. Brother lemme tell you WHAT! Even my laptop became better which is a crappy Lenovo that I overpaid for because I thought ram was everything, it replaces the weak ssd and makes it so much faster, and if you’re editing ProRes footage is becomes even faster. And the best part is that I can move it back and forth with no problems. It doesn’t overheat, it doesn’t make any sound, it’s compatible with iOS and windows, and it’s super small and thin but it’s definitely durable. Apparently it’s weather proof or something like that, I’m never going to test it but if you want to you can. Maybe throw it in a blender or air fryer or something idk. Blender probably wouldn’t take it out, but the air fryer probably would. Unless you are working under the sea in the bikini bottom with SpongeBob and Patrick, or the surface of the sun. It’ll probably last years. Read more

Absolutely hands down the best external SSD that I have ever owned. It's blazing fast, reliable, very portable and holds a ton of media. It's so fast that you can plug it directly into your Mac or PC and edit videos straight from the SSD. I do a lot of data recovery, system backups and restores for my tech clients and this drive is so fast that I have actually decreased my processing time by more than triple of what it use to take. I now own 3 of these and will definitely be buying more. Read more

This small drive never disappoints. It consistently performs well and is frequently used in multiple computers. So far, it has never failed to connect, transfer data quickly, and retain data files. It’s fast enough to work with high-end software such as 3D scanning, video editing, and more. Read more

It's fast, it's tiny, it works. I use this for games storage for my laptop and it works very well, at 2100mb/s it should be "slower" than my internal drive but it loads my games just as fast if not even faster on certain games it's awesome! It's so tiny so it's easy to take around as well. One thing you should know though is that Windows settings will automatically turn off USB ports to save power and this draws enough power that it'll disconnect due to that so you'll need to go through Device manager and make sure to turn off that windows saving power setting for each USB port so it doesn't turn off the drive when it's in heavy use. So far it works great, would buy it again. Easy installed, no noise, nice and small, so far I can’t say it gets really hot. Read more

Very handy little SSD. I purchased it to back up my DVD film and program collection. It is fast, reliable, has a great deal of storage and when plugged into my Roku device, gives me quick access to hundreds of DVDs, Blu-ray's and saved media without having to drag out and swap the discs. It runs the high end videos with encoded sound very nicely and while some have concerns about the longevity of data storage for movies on SSDs, I can say I have been using other devices and external HDs for this purpose for some years and have had very few incidents of data loss. Of course faulty drives are always possible so prior to moving over an entire collection of digitized DVDs etc, I recommend properly formatting and testing the drive before investing a great deal of time migrating TBs of data onto it. I find it a convenient and thus far reliable solution for my needs. Read more
