I am always on the hunt for the perfect running shorts - something with a liner, pockets for little things like keys, and pockets large enough for a phone. Writing this review because other random reviews have been really helpful in my search for the holy grail race day shorts! Anyways, these shorts are ALMOST perfect. I am 5’6, fluctuate between 140-145 lbs, and run mostly outdoors in a REALLY humid midwestern state. I bought these in a S and a M to test out both sizes. Unfortunately the material of the biker short liner is too thin/weak to hold a phone tightly against your thigh without it bouncing around with every step. I have a regular iPhone 16 so I imagine the issue would be worse with pro/max/larger phones. Pepper spray and key fobs are light enough to not cause the same bouncing issues. You will obviously get bounce if you put heavier items in the outer pockets, but unfortunately all the bouncing caused these shorts to slide down my waist/hips in both sizes. Unlike every other pair of CRZ shorts that I have, these don’t have an inner drawstring to help counteract the bouncing/sliding. I’m still going to keep them, they just won’t be a race day short.
